JDM55 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Posted March 17, 2012 given Corollas are generally not a car stolen for hard to get parts, i am tipping someone needed to get home if you can rustle up some mates, go for a drive around the area, its probably not got far. yeah we did that nothing come out of it, but got a call the other day from the police and they found the car!! aparently the guy that stole it was a junkie, he was caught driving it around and had needles in the car@!!@ the police informed me to come and pick it up found the car in the same state it was as before it was stolen, he didnt even try take the stereo or speakers, even my shoes and clothes were left intack, only thing was the petrol was right down to nothing , so ive got my car back! what a relief too, having to go thru the dramas of orginising another car and rego and all that carry on would have suxed and cost me a fairbit of cash, the junkie told the police every thing and he was off his face ,lol he opened and started my car with a mazda key lol , well hes in jail and the car is back, which means i can carry on my merry way :) Quote
JDM55 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Posted March 17, 2012 lol rottweiler alarm ive got one of them, leave the keys in it no worries, theifing ʇ~~ɔs its been happening more than usual lately.. in my opinion i reckon nothing can beat a good simple gps tracking device planted in the car two birds with one stone you find your car in the action and can personally "greet" the thieves if you know what i mean ;) exactly , ive just bought a gps tracker ,not for my daily but my build car, it even has a camera that takes a picture when you txt the reciever then sends u the info ,pretty clever ,but nice knowing where your car is all the time Quote

KE7T Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Happy to hear you got your car back in the same cond minus the fuel but sadly this was not the case for me . a little trick i do when leaving my rolla unattended is to remove the rotor button from the distributor as well as fitting kill switches to earth the coil and cut power off to the starter motor solenoid all this may slow the theif down but can still be bypassed by a smart theif running a wire from positive battery post to the distributor and then to the starter solenoid to get your motor started also steering wheel locks can be easilly removed they can iether cut the thin metal rim inside of the steering wheel with a mini hacksaw then pull the lock off or smash something into the lock to turn it i always face the lock towards the floor which may make it harder i hope . just one more thing i would like to add is fit new door and ignition barrels as your old ones will be so worn that any key may fit in and turn it Quote
