Ridemx21 Posted October 2, 2013 Author Report Posted October 2, 2013 After a lot of messing around with wrong parts and things not going to plan i got this running again in the early hours of this morning and dropped it off to the tuner today hopefully have it back in time for powercruise. 2 sets of rings that are too big in my piston kit 2 sets of correct rings head went of for Valve and seats cut, new exhaust guides and maching stems seals going in springs going in lifters and rocker in bottom end going together head on together in Quote
Ridemx21 Posted October 23, 2013 Author Report Posted October 23, 2013 Finally got around to setting up a surge tank the other days, just getting around to making a cover To seal it off from the boot. Also went to change the top hose and when i pulled it off so did the plastic barb on the radiator top tank so i got myself a aluminium one of ebay, made some new mounts and put it in Also took the spacers out of my front coilovers and did a wheel alignment and realise when i lowered it i cause massive toe out so i fixed that up and now it feels alot better to drive. Also took a little more off the rear spring and got some Shorter shocks off a mate who never used them. They are for a commodore wagon so they are much harder and perfect length for my springs Also took a few photos because i was bored Quote
Ridemx21 Posted November 18, 2013 Author Report Posted November 18, 2013 had some radiator troubles (after a week of driving the fan decided to hit one of the rad tubes) so went twin thermos and wired them into an auxiliary on my ecu. Got bored and decided to try my spare rocker cover which i painted yellow, but wasnt happy with it so resprayed the old rocker cover and plug cover in low gloss black and went over the writing in gloss black. think i will end up paint stripping the yellow one and colour coding it white, but I'm happy with the black for now. Also thought id do a compression test while i had it apart and was around 140-150 on all cylinders. Also was getting loud noises from my 044 so i started pulling my fuel system apart and realised the lift pump wasnt working so i replaced it with the goss pump i had Quote
Ridemx21 Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 today I pulled the rocker cover off to investigate a rattle and found this Quote
Ridemx21 Posted December 13, 2013 Author Report Posted December 13, 2013 So the rattle didnt get any better so i called nissan and the old tensioner weree superseeded by a new part number so i ordered one in and they are much different. Put it in an so far no noises :) Quote
Ridemx21 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 done a few little bits and pieces, tinted the windows, installed central locking and bought this Quote
BUZ440 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Nice nice, Looks like a GTX Turbo, but then the configuration is different, Either way looks like 450-500hp worth of fun in any event Quote
indelible Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Nice nice, Looks like a GTX Turbo, but then the configuration is different, Either way looks like 450-500hp worth of fun in any event not gtx as no billet comp wheel looks like a gt3076r to me Quote
Ridemx21 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Report Posted January 27, 2014 not gtx as no billet comp wheel looks like a gt3076r to me spot on, gt3076r, t3 0.82 ar v band exhaust. 4 inch antisurge front Quote
Ridemx21 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 took the car down to the drags last night to see what it would do while its still stock. Had a bit of a problem with a miss at high rpm but still managed to do ok. Learnt a fair bit and would like to go back soon when i have issues sorted Quote
Ridemx21 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 Put nolathane bushes in the trailing arms and panhard rod. Crappy job But made the back end a lot more predictable Had a powersteering leak in the pressure line so decided to cut the old line up and make a replaceable braided line with JIC fittings to make it cheaper to service in the future Also while i was picking up braided powersteering line i got excited and bought a fuel rail, regulator and ordered some turbo lines While i had stuff apart I decided to dream a little Can anyone compare this measurement with there s13, trying to see if a 6boost is going to fit Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Took the same measurement (where valve cover meets head to strut tower) on my S14 and it was 290mm I'll get the same measurement from a s13 today. Cars gunna be nuts with a 3076 could be a tad laggy sometimes Also another tip is I don't run the coilpack covers on mine and everyone I know because they trap the heat in and I have heard/seen the extra heat cause people some issues. oh what a nissan feeling! Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Wow this thing is gonna be a handfull! You work fast, lots of enthusiasm. The. 82 rear will make it pretty laggy .63 would have perhaps been better with the manual box. Quote
