Jason Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) My SC has some well lots of surface corrosion, like you see on aluminum and it looks like shit. Question is though how would I go about cleaning it because it has all these little reinforcing 'lines' , which can not be taken off but a brush? Suggestion welcomed, would. That pic is not mine, but you get the idea of the reinforcing Edited January 6, 2006 by Jason Quote
toyrota Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 block off all the holes and get it soda blasted like i did. or use a brass brush. there arn't realy any chemicals that get that shit off without staining it. Quote
Jason Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 Well I'm gona paint it to stop it happening again. My be black or silve :) Or maybe i can clear coat it :S Quote
Jason Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 well i keroed it, rust converted it and dremeled it to a somewhat disapointing result. The dremal brushed are to big to fit in all the pockets well. So i cleaned off the residue and sprayed it. Its currently drying in etch primer. And it looks so tuff. So I'm going to spray it saturn black. Still got some of the brake panint left over. Quote

NickZ Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) I got the same problem, my supercharger is really yucky. ill paint mine i think, does the etch primer help make the paint stick? Did you use high temp paint? Edited January 6, 2006 by NickZ Quote
Jason Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 Every one says to use etch primer for stuff in engine bays, well any were makes the paint adhere better apparently. I used brake paint. I'm going to redo my rocker covers in this colour since there a little scratched from storage. Quote
