Jono.C Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Pads - autobarn Can get rotors off eBay, unsure of quality. Or get yours machined for around 20 each. Can get brake lines made at any hose store etc Obrien for the windscreen at a guess Why new struts? Just put new shocks in if worn Quote
Tally Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 most places seem to be able to find ke20 stuff easier then KE25 stuff, however ke20 stuff not always the same as ke25 Quote
74coupe Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 My ke25 coupe is a import mod so yeah I don't know if people are just lazy and can't be bothered looking for it but I'm not sure. Just a real headache. Quote
74coupe Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 Mine were too thin apparently eBay only has only ke20 or 30.. Would the ke 20 rotors fit?? They r 4 stud pattern also? And suit up to 74 and mine is a 74?? Quote

For the shocks/strut inserts and idler arm bushes, go and see Simon at "Peders suspension" down the side road from Mitsubishi. Tell them Stu with the white supercharged corolla sent you. Simon at Peders will definatly know who I am(I have an account there) Jack might take a while(to remember me) as I haven't been down to get anything for a while. Both places are quite switched on with what they do, both highly recomended. On the windscreen give "national windscreens" a call usually heaps cheaper than "Obrien". Stu. Quote
Jono.C Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Yep ke20 one will fit, you bolt your hub to the disk rotor so it will be all the same stud pattern etc as it is now Quote
wagn Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Heres where i got the same stuff for my ke20 struts in the front - I'm guessing you mean inserts? - Pedders front pads - GSL rallysport (QFM HP-X) front rotors - GSL rallysport (slotted RDA) rearshoes - local brake shop windscreen - Complete windscreens alot cheaper than O'brien Hope this helps Quote
74coupe Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 thanks heaps guys.. will be making the clls tomorrow and heading to see people also.. just want the ca in my name so i can start getting the things done that i really want to do. with the struts it just says on the roady form "front struts leaking" but yeah I'm pretty sure the super mechanic means inserts... :/ cheers guys. its funny the things they pick up on... even though they know its going to be stripped down as soon as its done... parrot Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 When the car was new, they didn't use strut inserts, rather it was a piston set up in an oil bath essentially. Nowadays all that gets thrown away and replaced with a sealed strut cartridge which fixes the leak. Make sure you get a KE25 screen as KE20 is different. Post up where you get it and how much as I need to buy one. Quote

MRMOPARMAN Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 ke25's came with 2 different types of calipers. they will be either akebono or sumitomo calipers. before you go to the brake shop, get a pad from the mechanics and take it with you. they can then match it up. if the rotors are different (they shouldnt), they should be able to match them up too from whatever pads it has. Tally Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 rotors are different between akebono and sumitomo calipers... Quote
silverra23 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 When all else fails take it to Peter Robinson Autmotive at Oakleigh. He will be able to sort you out with all the bits. Quote
