ancullen Posted August 31, 2006 Author Report Posted August 31, 2006 I had figured your driving would be messy anyway. :D I'll be bringing the Starlet down to show you all how it's done and to make sure that Anthony in the blue Torana doesn't win again like last time. Hopefully a lot of BoostCruising guys will turn up this time too. Quote
wasfishing Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 ill try make it dunno how well the old mr2 would do though. havin that stupid clutch in it and all but if i can ill give it a go Quote
ancullen Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 Yeah, those button clutches are horrid - and extremely expensive. The MR2 will have traction out of the handbrake turns, so it has advantages. The hard bit is getting the backside to swing out the way you want it to. You should definitely try to come as the extra driving practice is always good. Quote
Killswitch Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I'd like to make it down, with new clutch + locker in the pig. But my parents seem to think that year 12 takes priority over cars? wtf! :D Quote
ancullen Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 That's why we're having it the week after school holidays. If you've got any school work to catch up on, you can do it in the holidays, and then the weekend after the holidays, you can come on the motorkhana. Don't worry about the locked diff. Sure it'd be cool, but single spinners can be fun-ish. Quote

But will only have it in for the event if I am using that car. Lockers on the street are f@$ken queer! Quote
wasfishing Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 yeah cost daniel $1600 fitted!! Had a bit of a play on dirt handles like a fwd but hangs out fairly well. Getting used to it now. Its kool!!! Quote
ancullen Posted September 3, 2006 Author Report Posted September 3, 2006 If you come along on the motorkhana I want a ride in that little beastie. Quote
ancullen Posted September 4, 2006 Author Report Posted September 4, 2006 While I'm at it, I may as well have a drive too. I've only ever driven a naturally aspirated AW11, plus I'm interested in seeing what a 4A-GZE feels like when it's running right. Quote
Ella Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 lol why don't you just invite yourself behind the wheel then ;) Quote
wasfishing Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 LOL. we'll see adam as no one exept my farther has drving the car yet I'm being very over protective. hehehe. just a quick question what sorta time should my car do down the 1/4? has pod n brass button. Quote
ancullen Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 Wouldn't really know to be honest. At a guess, I'd probably say low to mid 15's. Quote
Ella Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 that sounds about right to me... tho i can't see a MR2 being easy to launch. Quote
ancullen Posted September 7, 2006 Author Report Posted September 7, 2006 With most of the weight over the rear wheels, I'd say dial up about 5,000-5,500rpm and drop the clutch. You'll be around you torque peak which will give max acceleration, and if you get too much wheelspin, just try again with less rpm next time. Quote
