HOLY f@$kING SHIT BATMAN.

sitting here posting and readin a bit of stuff on rollaclub and then SSSCCCRREEETTTCCCHHHH BANG SMASH. threw some pants on and go for a run down the street and theres a car firmly wrapped around a tree on the front of someones lawn. come round a very loose sweeper, would have to have been doin well over 100kmh to loose it on the corner and 4 wheel slide it into a tree like 80 meters down the road from the corner.

that was a 7, and now a chopper just landed beside the house practically at 20 past 7. must have really done some dammage. and while i was inconspicuasly taking pictures i was told to go away and that i was sick for taking those pictures. had a fire extinguisher in my other hand and at least i was doing something.

picks.

that is kinda insensitive. like "omg someone has put their car into a pole and could be dead, lets get pics for the intarweb" but oh well we've all got stories to tell

i'm also pretty sure it's an offense to put those online, publishing evidence from what is now an open police investigation, etc. not sure

what news? looks like a big hit

I was going to say, those skids don't freak me out too much. (didnt realise the pics were gone)

yeah i was gunna say, you can't see much in those photos...

all i can say is i hope everyone is alright and safe.

The car was an (1988-1989) Hoiden Astra Sedan with an Aero bodykit. (LD Model)

The car was pretty cleaned up, hey!

IF anyone is interested in seeing this photos, use your discretion with approaching muller about them... the photos are graphic, as the car was pretty much turned into a pretzel knot around this tree on the side of the road.

Nick... wise move removing them :D

the speed limit is 60 around that corner and i took the skid photo to show how far that dar went from the corner to the impact. there was no way that he was doin less than 120-130 considdering the length and angle of the marks.

just to clear up some things about the thread:

i don't get off on seing pictures like that and don't like the suggestion that i do!! cause i don't. i am a volunteir member in our local SES and as you would imagine i HAVE had to deal with things like this before. i took the photos because

1. for my own personal interest (documentation of aresholes speeding down our street), we live on a road which is long flat and straight with a roundabout at each end and let me tell you this, if the fence around the roundabout or the signes on it or even the light pole in the middle of it arnt hit every couple of months id be happy. the roundabout shares a corner with a school aswell and its very unsafe. i have thought a few times about trying to get the speed limit in our street droped a little, 50 even would make a difference.

2. because as on MANY occasions that i have been involved in something of a serious nature like this the police are gratefull when you can provide pictures or anything for that matter which have been taken before the general public rush over and move things around and climb all over the accident scene.

3. so i could take them back to the ses headquarters and study them as a group and find diff ways in which things could have been done. ie. brace the roof as it was loose and could have imposed as a threat. other than me there was no one else with a fire extuingsher there. identifying other potential hazards.

i don't know why i feel that i need to give an explination to this but i have so show people that i am not a weirdo or anything and sencerly appoligise to anyone who was shocked or offended by the pictures that have now been romoved. in hind site i would have not uploaded the photos to the site if i had known that it would have been taken to heart like this.

i still felt that i had to say something in my defence.

anyway when my parents got the paper the next day there was a half page picture on the front page and looked worst than mine, and then another one on page 3 :D. it also said that there was a 19 year old male driving with no one else in the car and he is critical but stable so hes alright, kinda. and that police were searching for anyone who saw it happen.

Muller: I wasn't really fazed that you posted the pics up i was concerned about the legal sides of things, even still it was good to post why you took them to anyone else that might have thought you were strange. Also makes you think twice about speeding through streets.

I think its great that you took the photo's. Now you can send the pics to your local council and request that they install speed humps. Be persistant. Make heaps of calls and write letters.

I live near what used to be a dangerous intersection. We did the same thing. We now have roundabouts and speed humps. Now the hoons just do wheelies between the speed humps :D

It may sound cold. But i'm glad that this bloke came unstuck, before he killed an innocent person. You see it all the time. You play with fire and your going to get burnt. Lets hope when he's well enough to leave hospital, the police slap him with a huge fine and take his license away.

i don't think speed humps would cure it on our road as there would have to be like 10 of em or something.

that would totally suck for him gettin well enough to accept the fine and loose his liscence, but he had it commin if you drive like that. like you said, if you play with fire..

i mean i don't really have a problem when people try to drift the roundabout but not when school hours are in session or something like that. the worst thing is that they could just spinout and nudge the fence damaging there car more than the fence. unless there taking a D1 entry line into the corner.

i havent written anything or made any calls as there is not enough for them to take it seriously i feel. i think that i may have to wait for another accident :D how bad does that sound.

i plan on taking it to the school first cause theyd be mad to say no to it and then there will be more weight to the argument if the school is with me on it. :y: prob just try for a 50kmh rezoning first and see if it makes a difference. its hard cause its not a highway but it has above normal amount of traffic and would slow alot of people down which would make them speed anyway.

sorry about that jamie, wasnt atacking you but you must admit that what you said sounded criticising? well to me it did anyway. all sweet

Yep that is what 50 Zones are all about.

A mate of mine from Batemans Bay had a horrific car accident, which was entirely his fault, he was driving like a maniac, and clipped a car as he was swinging lanes to over take it, and it sent him drifting across into on coming traffic, and his passenger side went full force into the front of a 4 x 4, he was lucky to be alive, and still is lucky to be alive, I believe he is just regaining his ability to talk and walk, and the police had fined and charged him, before he even made it to hospital.

Speed humps Would cure it. Speed humps slow people down. Thats what they do.

He's willing to travel at 100km/h+ in a 60km/h zone. Do you think that changing a sign from 60km/h down to 50km/h, will slow people down? I honestly don't think so. People used to speed down our street even with 50km/h signs. The council realised it wasnt working, so they installed 4 speed humps in my street, and about another 15 total, in the surrounding streets.

But at the end of the day, its not in your hands to decide whether you get speed humps or not. If/When the council pulls their finger out, they will send surveyors and assessors to have a look at your street and give their verdict on the best possible solution to the problem.
