ke-rolla Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) Hey guys I'm having trouble sorting out the mounting of the i/c on my KE20, i really don't want to go cutting up too much of the grill to fit it in but at the same time i want it up behind the grill (for best airflow) but don't want it hanging out for all too see as I'm not into that look iv attached a pic of roughly where i want it but its still just a lil too far forward for my liking and i can't really go back any further without cutting out the front to suit which means remounting my radiator.. whats your ideas, any help would be great cheers Edited February 7, 2012 by ke-rolla Quote
kickn5k Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 I know it's a different car but I spaced the grille and headlight surrounds on dads datsun by about 10mm. But it only has a 2.5" thick intercooler. Quote
ke-rolla Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 cheers mate, anyone else got any more ideas? Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 On my ke30 the rear of the grill is shaved off 15mm with grinder/sander, you can't really see it from the front as the grill remains the same but thinner. Quote
StasIII Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 ive got the same cooler and it mounted up fine , just welded brackets to the bottom rail and mounted it on the top via the radiator Quote
Jono.C Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 You could buy another intercooler that fits better.. Have a look at the intercooler in my thread for ke10 that I bought. Fits perfectly behind the factory stone tray and you'll still get your bumpers etc on Quote
BUZ440 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 also have the cooler and radiator mounted together as one unit, bearing that it clears your fan/engine etc Quote
ke-rolla Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 would you be able to take a few closer up pics of your setup for me staslll? Quote
13bke26 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Theres my setup...had to elongate one hole but works for me Quote
chestikoph1 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Hi, I know you don't to cut the car up too much, but i had the same issues when trying too keep my fitment a bit more stealth. Minimal cutting and i managed too fit a reasonable sized cooler behind the grille of a KE55. Not sure what a Ke20 is like but this might help. Cheers Dean Quote
