kangaroosa Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 (edited) I have been spending some time on a Datsun forum lately. One thing that i have noticed is how clear and legible their classifieds are. They have pinned a topic that contains a "template" for making your ad. If the template is not used, then the ad can/will be deleted by the mods. It just makes it so much easier to read the add. It also helps the seller to list all the info, without forgetting things like a location. I realise Rollaclub already has guidelines, but lately the classifieds seem to look like 25 word sentences without any punctuation. So here is their template: FOR ALL ADS!!!! Please also use the template below when posting ads. When a classifieds AD has been sold or wanted item found, please add : SOLD or : FOUND to the topic or PM a moderator. The topic will then be locked to ensure the important ads remain at the top of the forum. This is only fair for all. Thanks, Jon Subject: FS/WTD - brief description For sale/Wanted: enter items description Condition: describe in detail, be accurate and honest Price and price conditions: $ or price range for wanted ads if applicable. Extra Info: any additional info. Contact Details: PM, phone, email etc Location: ads without locations may be removed. Delivery & Conditions of Delivery: eg pickup only, courier interstate, no COD etc Pictures: if not available, please advise. Ads not using this template will be removed without notice. In some cases there may be a warning first. Its no hard people, please use it. The raw template obviously just has the titles between the tags. So its fool proof. Its just an idea. I guess its really something for the Mods to think about. Edited December 31, 2005 by kangaroosa Quote
Dan Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 I think this is an excellent idea myself, I presume that the forum you're talking about is OZDAT? Quote
MissSydneyCruising Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 id like to find out how to do this. We have a very similar problem on our forums at sydcru. People don't know how to punctuate. Quote

Tiger Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Always been one to sell things online in any forum I'm acquainted with in such a way.. makes life easier.. instead of having to ask: Location? Price? and everything else... Quote
