iwontarolla Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 I'm thinking about building a track only car in the next couple of months. I've had a look on here and some other websites about racing in Adelaide. what types do we have to offer and how often are they run? don't really want to start building a car then figure out i can only race one race a year. any info would be great thanks guys. Twinky Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 Google is your friend! You could almost be racing every weekend if you joined EVERY club here in Adelaide. I suggest you have a look at these clubs to begin with: http://www.mscasa.com/ http://www.sportingcarclubsa.org.au/ Our raceway: http://www.mallala.com/ A raceway in development (Already does drag/drifts): http://www.tailembendmotorsport.com/ Hillclimb events held at: Collingrove Mount Alma A big event if you have the money to enter (this is on my wish list): http://www.classictargaadelaide.com.au/adelaide/adelaide_home.html And if you don't want to compete just yet and get a taste of the track just check out the calendar at Mallala raceway and take a look at the practice days: They are usually cars only or cars and karts. When I went last year it was $110 entry fee and $25 for a cams licence for the day. Depending on the day and how many cars you can get over 8 runs and 10-15 mins each. Don't even get me started on drift events, like a plague they are.... Quote
snot35 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 And if that isn't enough there is also: http://www.mountalmamile.com/ http://www.ahtr.com.au/ If you want to see a little more scenery. How many events you run is probably going to depend more on your budget than anything else! I run off road stuff and there is certainly more I could run in than what I can afford to do this year. I'm planning to get out to 6 events this year, but then my budget is curtailed by a mortgage and new family. Quote
iwontarolla Posted January 24, 2012 Author Report Posted January 24, 2012 i had a look before but having a second look i have found heaps. i think its worth building a track only car. what type of things have to be done to the car to run in these advents or whats suggested? Quote
Twinky Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 All depends on what class you want to race in. Some require full rollcages etc etc others are not so fussy. Quote
snot35 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 www.camsmanual.com.au And join a club, tell them what you want to do and they'll help you with what you need :) Quote
