Brisbane Area Mega Cruise?

We don't have the epic roads as the GOR but I'd be keen to do a weekend camping cruise.

 

There are no major holidays till Easter after Aus Day so it might need to be a day off work or two cruise.

 

Inland, coast?

 

I'd like to do 3 days, meet on a Friday early, cruise to a stop, loop 1/2 way back on different roads, stop, then cruise home Sunday.

 

Just interested in numbers of people possibly keen for this idea.

 

I already know there is a tight knit group of RC'ers who go camping but I want to add a decent cruise into it too.

 

Anyway I'll leave it up for discussion.

On the calendar cruise we had so many cars that I was slowing/stopping traffic just so we could get onto the road.

I'm always keen for a camp/cruise! just trying to convince the missus we are going driving and camping and not going to strip clubs and shit :) as long as i get to go fishing somewhere i want in!

I can think of a few others who would be 75% depending on the situation.

 

Can always cut it down to a saturday/sunday thing. But thats not really mega.

 

Options options.

 

Could always just circle Brisbane hinterland, close enough for people to do one night at their choice.

 

EDIT: We could tie this into the Toowoomba cruise??

I went out to Kenilworth and Connodale the other week, other than the narrow road, and me cringing when cars go past with rocks flickin up (you get that)

 

Went out to Cedar Creek again, and ended up at Somerset Dam (the spit) and Kilcoy, camp nearby, would take the boat, but its a 40ft thing and huge logistically, otherwise ski boating?

 

Would be even cool to hire out lakeside also, and possibly camp nearby, RC Powercruise?

i'd love to get involved. i'm still finishing my KE55 2dr but theres nothing better then getting it out on a highway or sideways on a kerb. i'll post up some pics of my car soon as i can. live in the Kangaroo pt area.

I might let this idea seep into the minds of a few members and let it simmer for a while and try and organise a Toowoomba Cruise for after AJD.

 

Then see if people are keen for this. Let the rain pass.
