JiP Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 Well here we go. Sewing day :S Here is the window before it became the door... Â So i was wondering how to make the next step. I wanted to start stitching but with the camper fully extended it was hard to pin safety pins. So I decided to just get knife happy... Â Now with the canvas cut I can get my hands around both sides. Took me about an hour and a half just to stitch the zipper to the door. Then i'll want to do another pass. Then the same for the frame. Than the same to neaten the cut edge and sew it to the zipper. Its going to take me AGES!! Â And here is the current bench status... Quote
towe001 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Damn your getting some skills on trailers. Â I like the idea of changing the stud pattern to the same as the car but in all honesty keep the spare for the trailer. If you toss it, there'll be a day or night when you'll wishing you kept it. Â The only real thing i'm not fused on is the position of those taps, i'd sooner see them behind the guard not sticking out like they are. At a rough guess you'll lose about 4Lt totals but there'll be a less chance of them getting knocked off by a branch or something. Or at the least a removable guard to protect them. Â Â Â What'd you with the other trailer ? Quote
JiP Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 I still have it. Planning on starting a mowing service soon... JiP's Mowing Service :P: The trailer will come in handy there. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Looking good there mate That benchtop has turned out quite dark compared to how it started.....looks great Is the door finished? Hopefully you have it done for Aussie Day Quote
JiP Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 na not yet ay. Took me an hr and a half to sew just one pass of the door. I hope to have the frame stitched up by the end of the weekend at least. I'll leave the hemming to anther date. Quote
JiP Posted January 21, 2012 Author Report Posted January 21, 2012 Arrrhh Been sewing... Here is the door with the first pass sewn on the frame... I started the second pass on the frame as I wanted to give it strength before I called it a night. Must say i'm quite happy with it so far... And lastly here is the last bit. This is what the zipper should look like onced hemmed and given that extra strength... Quote
towe001 Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Mate, i know who i'll be seeing when i can get the chance on a camper trailer. Â Â Maybe you should think of a mowing and sewing service :P: Quote
