stearman Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I live in B.C. Canada and as far as I know, I am the only person with a 70's corolla... let alone a 4 spd. I'm sure thats not true but I can't even find pictures of these cars outside of this website. So I am wondering, in the Corolla world of Australia, is a 4spd. transmission worth much? Is it rare? I am replacing mine with a BMW motor so I will be parting out my old motor soon. I will be extremely lucky to find any buyers on this side of the pond. Quote
coln72 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Ours were never fitted with a T series motor :( The majority of ours would of been 4 speed manuals though. Some of the later ones could be optioned with a 5 speed. Quote
styler Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) If its a T40 ie T series 4 speed, maybe $100 but most people would go a 5 speed. The T series Gearboxes were very common but as they get older get difficult to source. Theres an option to fit a 5th gear but that upgrade kit was only avaliable in the 70's! Shipping here for 30kg would be about $500. Edited January 11, 2012 by styler Quote

tojo2 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Might find some takers on 3tcgarage  if not, tailhousing, shiftershafts and shifter could be worth a few bucks for someone modding shifterposition of a newer T series gearbox. Doesnt weigh much either. Quote
