oldie Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 Progress is friggin slow!Replaced the drivers door so now nearly all front is red, rest is black.Cut a set of arches of some ke front guards for the rears but have to do some metal repair before I can fit them but held them up in place and they look quite good but think I'll have to do a little redesigning at the lower ends to get them to sit well. Still haven't done the rear axle/diff yet, must try to get onto that, then it will just be body work and paint for the moment till it has reg then may look at other options/mods etc. This little 4k has 320,000+ k's on it but the motor still starts almost first time every time and its not really that noisy, tappet noise etc. Will drop in again probably with some pics when I have the arches done and for those that are interested, yes, the morris is still moving along slowly, finished fitting the rear suspension and axle, now working on the front torsion bar suspension... Like I said, splitting time and money between two cars can be frustrating/difficult at times but its all good in the end. Quote
oldie Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 I HATE people who think that bog is the answer to all the worlds rust repair problems, cover it with a little bit of rusty old tin, screw it in with some rusty screws and bog the sh#t out of it and its still not even the right shape!! My bitch for the week.. Quote
oldie Posted March 7, 2012 Author Report Posted March 7, 2012 just a couple of pics to keep things going!the outside arches of the rear guards are finished, courtesy of ke70 front lips but I still have to repair the inner arches as they were quite rusty also.... Quote

oldie Posted August 31, 2012 Author Report Posted August 31, 2012 So,just a small update, its been ages. The KE is in the carport getting all its paint stripped of as time permits,am about half way, boot, rear quarters, roof, bonnet and drivers side internal door frames done and etch primed.Think I'm going to get the doors chemically dipped and cleaned so that doesnt leave me to much more to do.Thinking gun metal grey or Ford blueprint at present but could change. Mechanically will stay standard till Ive got it on the road and rego'd.Also going to dump the 13 inch Hotwires eventually,to much offset for what I want but they keep the car on wheels at present. Will put up more news when it happens. Pete. Quote
oldie Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 So things are still progressing slowly, car has been totally stripped to bare metal, all by hand with paint stripper, sander, discs and time. Decided against chemical stripping, especially at $110 per door.Car is now in full epoxy etch primer, roof, passenger side doors, both guards, bonnet, boot lid and rear light panel are all straightened and reprimed so just have to sort out rear guards and drivers side doors and a little welding under the rear wheel arches then final prime, sand and top color. Other project still progressing, am currently making up a stepside pickup bed for the morris ute and working on straightening out the cab. Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Good decision anyway, chemical stripping includes sealers and glues that hold the panels together. Slower by hand but better. So, better than new when done? Quote
oldie Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 Came up good but quite a bit of "spider" type rust lines under some of the paint, hope I've dealt with them well enough.Time to keep on keeping on. Quote
