decoop Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 Hi guys just bought a ke10 equipped with a toyoglide, just wondering has anyone converted one of these to manual and what was done in regards to the clutch sleeve in the firewall? As auto ones don't have it. Cheers. Quote
KEI069 Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) G'day mate all I did was went to wreckers with a drill and drilled out three spot welds that hold like a little cup that holds the clutch cable where it's welded onto the firewall. All manual ke's share the same cup thing. Then you can just screw it onto your car. Hope this helps Cheers Justin Oh and you don't need a whole pedal box just the clutch pedal itself and a longer bolt Edited December 31, 2011 by KEI069 Quote
decoop Posted December 31, 2011 Author Report Posted December 31, 2011 Then just drill out the firewall in the auto one? Quote
KEI069 Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 Yeah pretty much just one hole for the cable to go through. There is an identifiable marking on the firewall where it should go Quote
decoop Posted December 31, 2011 Author Report Posted December 31, 2011 Yeah there's a big hole there but it has a backing plate or it's part of the firewall, so i'll just have to drill it out. Cheers for your help bud. Quote
philbey Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) I didn't drill mine out, just get a piece of rod and a big hammer you should be able to punch the backing plate off. I didn't even bother with the cup, get the rubber bush and it will sit against the firewall, It might be crooked but mines been fine for 2 years. Edited December 31, 2011 by philbey Quote
