demuire Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 So, how was it? Did Redwarf finish? How did Redatto go? Quote
99 Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 An extract from some emails I have been sending to answer this very question: "The rally ended up going really late and I competed 4 of my 6 stages in the dark. Most of the field would have done only 2 to 3 of the 6 but I was sooo far down the back of the field, I needed my spotties early in the piece! I expected to be scared of hurtling through the forest in the pitch black darkness but it was SO much fun. I also expected to be scared silly of driving blind on a road book (no pace notes) but actually found that to be more enjoyable too. I had a few scary moments being out of control but managed to recover from them okay. The car was absolutely bullet proof and I rev'd the engine at 6 grand for most of the event and it seemed to love it." As for my times, I didn't do so fantastically - about 11th out of 15 classic cars, but am super stoked not to have come last overall. I was very VERY happy to have a solid performance over the event. As for Mr Redwarf, he had a less successful event in that he broke an axle again on the 3rd stage. Told you that Cooloola was a bad event for Redwarf Motorsport! Nothing he could have done about it. :-( But he was putting in an absolute BLINDER up until then - coming 2nd outright clubman on a couple of the stages - a true giant killing performance. Rob has a virus on his computer unfortunately, so I'm not sure when he'll be back on board to give a more thorough and accurate version of the event from the dwarf perspective... datgirl Quote
demuire Posted March 16, 2004 Author Report Posted March 16, 2004 Datgirl is da bomb :) I think Mr Redwarf is very correct in saying that we'll all be very afraid of Datgirl and Redatto by the end of the year :o 1st real event (the other one isn't counted, Redatto broke :fuzz: ) and already 2/3 up the leaderboard  (or is that 1/3? which way is it counted anyway?)
