5ksev Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Posted December 13, 2011 Tighe quoted me $210 to gring it to the hydro specs of what ever I wanted.. I'm going to keep running hydro, as I don't plan to rev over 8grand.. If you could give me the info to this other place, that would be good, I'll ring them in the morning Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Half a dozen companies do them- I wanted a torquey cam & stock valve springs (0.4" lift) so 270deg was fine, & I ended up going with the Crow grind as they open faster ( The 50thou lift is slightly higher). They all cut much wilder cams than these. Quote
5ksev Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Posted December 13, 2011 I'm getting the tighe 20-60 260dur .423 lift.. Peak at 6500rpm As the most common is 25-65 270dur peak @ 7500.. I don't really want to be revving that hard, and itl be shit to drive on the street. So I'm going a tad smaller, as mentioned above.. Due to the fact that it's going to be a daily, with 50/50 street/highway Quote
5ksev Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 Took the head in today, acid dipped decked to 10:1, Heavy duty valve springs New valve stem seals Decarboning my valves.. Picking it up tomorrow :) Quote

Looks sweet as is. possibly.. thats the most I'm going to do to the 5k, possibly may rebuild the bottom end.. next plans are to ( hopefully get my carpet ) put bucket seats in the front.. and tidy up the interior.. then a white respray, pump my guards real nice, 15x10 wheels with nice strech, then lower it... and once I'm over the 5k, hello engine conversion!
