Interchangeable 3K & 4K Sump Gaskets?

G'Day !

 

Throw this one into the sharks den; I've played with 4k's & larger during my time with spanners and corolla's. Never really dabbled in the mighty 3k though;

 

Question:

 

are 3K sump gaskets the same as 4k sump gaskets / Are the sumps different on the sealing side(s) ?

 

Have 10 3K NOS sump gaskets here, wanting to know if i should bin them or not. lol.

The 3k and 4k that i have sitting here have different bolt patterns for mounting the sumps.

But the 3k i have is an early model (3k-h). The sump pattern could be a bit different on the later model 3k's. I think from memory someone mentioned of using a 3k sump on their 4k in a thread ages a go.

 

And as for binning them i wouldn't do that cause there are a couple of guys on here that use the trusty 3k in their speedway cars.

I remember reading that the stud or bolt pattern was different on the 3k block and sump. I may be wrong though. I only have a 4k and 5k here for reference.
