7shades Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 And now you're in that post-Euro mood, thinking about how cheap the cars were, how backwards this country is, and how embarrassingly stupid most of your friends actually are. Yeah, I know this feeling Quote

philbey Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) I'm in Germany at the moment, jus been through the uk and Japan, off to Austria, Italy and then the US.... Amen to that shady although I'm not back. And my mates aren't stupid, but what astounds me is that EVERYTHING is expensive in Australia.... Food, beer, cars, rent, houses. I'm buying pints at Half the price even with the exchange rate! Edited December 25, 2011 by philbey Quote
7shades Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 Yeah dude... We're pretty much the most expensive place to live on this planet. Quote
Trev Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 But isn't the average pay over in euro countries half of what we get here? Quote
7shades Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Nope. We're right in the middle of the 'average wage' spectrum, but everything costs more to buy here. We have the most expensive real estate, cars, groceries, the lot. Quote
carbonboy Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 The joys of being an island in the middle of BF nowhere perhaps? Quote
7shades Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 In a nutshell: A really big island with not many people on it. Costs a lot of money (per capita) to keep the place running. Quote
philbey Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 But isn't the average pay over in euro countries half of what we get here? I think we earn quite well, yes. I listened to two blokes in suit and ties in the middle of Westminster talk about how one got a Patrice from 38k to 40k. That's 61k Australian, which is below our median income of 73k. Not half perhaps, but less. Here's an indicator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_household_income Quote
ae95- wagon kid Posted December 28, 2011 Author Report Posted December 28, 2011 the food is better, the women are hotter, the cars are faster and the architecture, culture and way of life is better in my opinion, i thought we were well off until i did that trip also they have alot more freedom to do whatever they want to there cars without being defected for being to low by 3 mm Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 also they have alot more freedom to do whatever they want to there cars without being defected for being to low by 3 mm Yeah, but lets face it, for the most part they do it properly over there..... Quote
7shades Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Except for Poland. Its like the South Australia of Europe Quote
