B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 Yeah thats what I am leaning towards. Will have to wait a few weeks. Hopefully the head is ok, I only drove it around the block. What a waste of $55 of oil. Quote
Aussie_KE70 Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 +1 for the cometic, I use to run them in my SR builds. I used many Jap branded ones and the cometic MLS are as good IMO. Sorry to hear about the Head Gasket. Quote
glenpos Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 that sucks, as long as it was fun for the minute it lasted haha :y: Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 18, 2013 Author Report Posted November 18, 2013 It was definitely exciting. Hopefully its as simple as a new gasket and oil. Wont happen till I'm back for my xmas break anyway. Quote
glenpos Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 haha first time i drove mine, second lap the idler pulley fell off so the belt came off, blew the head gasket, temp gauge only went to half.... and i just thought the lack of power would have been the pvc intercooler piping melted, but no... :no2: was as good as new with another gasket, hopefully yours will be as easy :y: Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 19, 2013 Author Report Posted November 19, 2013 Need a scrub and a paint. Looks like the pinion seal might be leaking. Quote
rian Posted November 19, 2013 Report Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) Looks like something you would retrieve from a sunken shipwreck. Edited November 19, 2013 by rian Quote

rian Posted November 19, 2013 Report Posted November 19, 2013 Is it going to become an LSD? By the way, you can buy bolt-on swaybar mounts from Whiteline. Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Can anyone give me advice on what thickness head gasket I should get? Should I stick with a standard thickness or go slightly thicker with the increased boost? Quote
Aussie_KE70 Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 It depends on how high your increase of boost is. If its only a couple of PSI I would stay with standard thickness. Plus a thicker Head gasket does not change your static compression a great deal anyways. Quote
