rian Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 I have 91 in the tank so I need to throw some 98 in then Ill let y'all know what I think. So basically it's not as fast as you thought it would be? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 Nah its quick, but just feels like its not running 100%. That fuel has been sitting for over 2 months now too. Quote
B-Lugg Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Good job mate! Must have be awesome to have it on the road again. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 Gonna go for a squirt now and get some 98. Will give my verdict soon. Quote

Gratz Reed!!! Oh old 91, I think thats the main reason for your average performance. If it's got a knock sensor it's probably pulling all of the timing out of it as it comes onto boost. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) OK, my starter motor cable lug came off so it wouldnt start. I stalled at some lights with cops across the road watching and had to fix it in the middle of the intersection. Then it started getting lumpy. Sounded awesome. http://youtu.be/mpiNZmf2_W0 But then I got home and it sounded like this. http://youtu.be/jMJBT5LI6hQ Sounds coming from the cams. Any ideas? When you rev it the noise goes away. Broken valve spring or something? On the plus side it went hard :) Edited October 14, 2013 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Check the pulleys stuff first because they're easy to see. Then i'd be pulling the valve covers off and have a poke around. Maybe supercharger? these are clutch type right? But I know nothing about sc12's Definitely sounds like a rotating noise. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 Its def coming from under the cam covers. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 Can anyone see anything wrong with this picture? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 Ok so I pretty sure exhaust and inlet cams are the same, just out 180 degrees, yeah? But when I put the engine to TDC to measure the valve clearances the cam lobes arent at the lowest point. When I turn them so I can read the gap like so... The cam gears are nowhere near the timing marks. Then I noticed this: Soooo, c'mon guys, WTF is going on here????? Quote
carbonboy Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I'll be the first to admit I've got nothin'... Although the camshaft knock-pins being out of alignment can't be good unless the cam-spec's require it. Any part or ID number on the cams that you can see? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 can't see anything, unless its stamped behind the cam gears Quote
