Got a new MAP, plugged it in, same issue. Turns out the brown wire into the female plug was dodgy.

So I rewired it and....

Wire dizzy and TPS properly (soldered connections etc)

Air box with oil catch can routed into it.

Oxygen sensor

Speed sensor (might make a hybrid AE82/KE70 dash cluster)

 

If anyone wants to straight swap my KLS short shifter for a standard T50 shifter gimme a holler. No idea where mine went.

Just scored a VR airbox with all the bits and pieces for cheap. Once this is in I'm going to take it to be certified.

Drove a 2 hour round trip to get the airbox, didnt miss a beat, purred like a kitten.

Pretty much the first time since I have bought it that it has been enjoyable to drive.

 

 

I suppose Ill keep it now.

Cheers man, it was immensely satisfying driving it tonight.

 

Started fiddling. So much for a straight forward install.

 

This is how it will sit, it will be able to be bolted down properly. The exit pipe will be relocated to the top of the airbox.

i have ordered a 3" 90 degree silicone bend which will go to one of the VR expandable rubber things then to the existing blue 3 to 2.5" silicone step pipe.

I'll grab a K&N filter and sort out some kind of CAI with the J pipe left over from the VR intake pipe.

 

 

Better idea of how it will work.

 

 

And how it sits.

 

 

Shoe will be replaced with proper mounts.

I moved the outlet pipe at work today.

commodore airboxes are suprisingly useful for this sort of thing.

 

I used a VS airbox in an AE92 SX that I threw together for my father in law.

 

Fit perfectly, just a good size and shape

 

ohhh, and do the happy dance!

I tried to do what you are doing with the commondore airbox, but gave up after about 15mins.

It took a lot of head scratching but it should work out OK.
