rian Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Do you need steering arms for your XT130 swap? If AE86 steering arms fit XT130 struts then I might have a pair of non power steerings arms you can have. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 I have non PS in my daily, don't need lock They're not just for lock.. Steering is much quicker Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 AE86 ps arms on the way :y: new temp gauge in and working, I realised the old one was actually working, it was a dodgy connection. Oops. I should really get hold of that eGay seller and refund his refund. Went a bit crazy with split hose tidying up the engine bay. Looks good now though. I should do more but I want to play with the scooter. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Those are the arms I bought as well. Good deal really Quote
rian Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Split tube/conduit is awesome! Post a vid of the scooter :y: Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 don't have vids of the scooter but I have some picture of the new wheels. New bearings too. I think this used to be electric because things don't quite line up so I'm slowly sorting those issues out. I bought a proper motorbike throttle for it, took off the panther power stickers. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 19, 2012 Author Report Posted July 19, 2012 Bored, leads to having a Toyota scooter. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 20, 2012 Author Report Posted July 20, 2012 Drove around for 3 hours trying to find a chain break circlip as the other one popped off, got it all back together. All the cables are lubed and tidied up, brakes adjusted and working properly. More Toyota love Chain guard Mad flap Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 NIce work  Because of this I just googled "pimp my scooter" pics... damn some people go a little far! Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 20, 2012 Author Report Posted July 20, 2012 Ha ha yeah, I wont go that far, its mostly function so far apart from the paint and badge. I might do the handlebars white to match the wheels. Quote
SLW42 Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 If its not already flat black get to fixing that :P hahahaha, looks like a mad little toy to play with aye Quote
19914afc Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Watch out if you get caught riding it on the street, same ass reaming as riding an unregistered, uninsured motorbike. Quote
orangeLJ Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 yup, chain drive makes them in the same class as unregistered uninsured "motor bike" Can also get you for riding on the footpath etc etc. I used to run a chain drive setup on a pushy as a kid, I may have gone too far with a Jay kart engine at one stage though....... (made it ʞ©$ɟed to ride, used to have to lean all the way over the one side to fix the weight balance.... plus it just did burnouts all the time, that lasted a couple hours) The only "legal" method of motorising a bike or scooter (and this is going back YEARS and in NSW) was to run a "friction drive" setup (the old bicycle peg against the tyre with a spring tensioner) Quote
rian Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Petrol engined pushbikes/scooters are illegal in QLD, however electric pushbikes and scooters are legal. I looked into it for uni transport. Quote
19914afc Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 yeah 200 watts is stuff all I used to have a 500 watt pushbike engine that was built into the front wheel, went alright and got about 20k or so before needing charging. I had one of those 70cc pushbike engines in those chopper looking pushys, had billet head, expansion chamber would get to about 70kmh pretty easy, but got done near home and they needed 2 cop cars and a motorbike cop to harass me about it, then ended up getting dropped because I told their boss or whoever was in charge of them what happened.
