It's_AUDM_Yo Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 T3 stuff takes about a month to arrive. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Yeah. Poo's. Well I can start pulling the front end apart. Install the master. Get the bottom of the struts built. Get the bushes in. Tinker tinker. Anyone know somewhere online to buy a XT130 brake rebuild kit? Or would it be easier going to Repco. EDIT: Found these, pretty cheap. EDIT: Double the price including shipping. PBR does a rebuild kit. Will go see Pedders on Saturday. Edited September 11, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
SLW42 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 R.e.p.c.o had the bits I needed for my caliper kit when I rebuilt the brakes on my ta22 and wasn't overly expensive aye(surprisingly) give them a shot before you go to pedders..... If not try some brake and clutch places around your hood somebody will have something local and probably abit cheaper too, Quote
ke70dave Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 how expensive are we talking? ive always just got the local brake shop to overhaul calipers, come back looking brand new, new pistons, sleaves, seals and pressure tested. Not cheap at around $100/side. But i don't think it gets much better. i know its a bit of a drive for you, but you might even be able to frieght them there. 19914afc Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Depends if you just want to put new seals in, I did that with my corona as the piston was a bit sticky on one side so just pulled both apart and cleaned up the pistons and bores with emery tape and went back together and in the car easy, kit was pretty cheap from memory around $20-$30 from repco was just a PBR kit. ke70dave Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 ive gotten a few random machining jobs done there too... got them to machine up my spacer for my camber plate to shock absorber. they were more than willing to give me a hand, speedy too considering it had nothing to do with brakes. B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 I might try the cheap option and if I screw it up get the pros to do it. Plus its another thing to learn. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 14, 2012 Author Report Posted September 14, 2012 Tonight the front end strip begins. I reckon I have 2 feet either side of the car to work on. For the love of Corolla's. :) Quote
