Tiger Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 ENJOY :y: Oh... the drinks in the background (through the windscreen).. are they full and ready for emptying during the refurbish process? Or where they emptied before you started? :hammer: hahaha Quote
Super Jamie Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 Oh... the drinks in the background (through the windscreen) hahaha f@$k, talk about keen radar, sure you're not alcoholic? :P nice productive corolla-ness, can't wait to see progress pics :S and the end result ;) Quote
Tiger Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Ex drinker from WAAAAAAAY back (hiccup) hahaha Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Are you sure you can put the hood lining back in without removing the windows...most cars have to have the windows out. Quote
Tiger Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 I'm postive of it. And to make sure, we'll see what the outcome of KE30Coupe's little experience is like. :S Quote
Tiger Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Helped my friend do it on his Corolla... but we done something COMPLETELY different on the way back.. Took it out and we sound deadened his whole roof and we contacted on the velour afterwards... Had no drama removing it Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 So a standard one might not work :S Quote
Tiger Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 I don't see why it shouldn't to be honest... Let's wait and see :S I'm confident it will work Quote
KE30Coupe Posted December 25, 2005 Author Report Posted December 25, 2005 (edited) Your comments are starting to make me worried Rolla Boy......I pulled the lining of no problem but as stated the front section had already fallen so I didnt actually remove it. Worst case I can always use super glue and stick it to the roof :S Oh and Tiger.....they are all empties.......Oh and there is another row under them as well, no 2 bottles are the same either ;) Edited December 25, 2005 by KE30Coupe Quote
Tiger Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Worst case I can always use super glue and stick it to the roof ;) Just remember to post up the results in the "bunkiest" mod thread :S Just kidding :P Quote
kangaroosa Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 don't stress too much about the roof lining. I've have re-fitted standard roof linings to my corolla a few times without removing the windscreen. The rear is held up no probs by the metal strip. The sides are held in place with the capping strip along the sides. The middle is held in place by both the interior light and the metal rod. The front is held in place by both of the sun visor mounts and the rear view mirror. If your aftermarket roof lining is not too thick, you should be able to tuck it into the front windscreen rubber. Thats all i have done in the past anyway. Its easier with at least 2 people though. Currently i have a padded roof lining moulded and lined in velour. Its so rigid that I did away with that bloody annoying support rod. Its cut flush with the front widscreen because its too thick to be tucked in. Worst case scenario: Fix it all in place to at least pass a roadworthy. When its insured, most insurance companies give you 1 free windscreen a year. Just claim that windscreen. When the bloke takes out your windscreen, tuck in your roof lining and then fit the New windscreen. That way it wont cost you anything. Quote
KE30Coupe Posted December 25, 2005 Author Report Posted December 25, 2005 Cheers Kanga you've alleviated my growing concerns.........bloody Rolla Boy making me all worried ;) Oh and Tiger.....the whole car could end up in the Bunkiest mod thread :S Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Cheers Kanga you've alleviated my growing concerns.........bloody Rolla Boy making me all worried ;) Oh and Tiger.....the whole car could end up in the Bunkiest mod thread :S Just wanted you to be aware, in case you had to take the screen out, and got stuck doing the re-trim because of it. It should only cost $50 to have the screen removed and put back in anyways. Quote
