rian Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Supras are rear wheel drive, AE92s are front wheel drive.... :no2: What's wrong with the gearbox from whatever corolla came out with the 20v? Edited November 24, 2011 by rianwest Quote
nickless7 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Report Posted November 24, 2011 ahh I'm new to this lol. so you would say that there is no better option than the g/b that the 20v donor car comes with? Quote
abbott Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 if it's a stock 20v out of a stock fwd car then yes that would be the best option because that gearbox was no doubt the box that was made to go with that engine. if your building some crazy turbo 20v then maybe do some research and the information you seek will appear in the depths of the Internet. Hey there Nick, I would go with what “Abbott” has said as Toyota spends Millions on research and development and the FWD gearbox that comes with the 20V from the factory is the best option. If you were to start playing with the 20V and if you did kill a few gearbox’s I would then try to source an “E” series gearbox, these came out with the supercharged Corolla’s. The E51 came from the earlier supercharged motors and the E58 with the later models (if I remember correctly the E58 were mostly factory LSD). Google is your friend …… All the best Quote
RedKE30 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 There was also an LSD C series box I think. Should bolt straight up. C52 or C56?? Someone can clarify. Quote

Should bolt straight up. C52 or C56?? Someone can clarify. c160 6 speed gearboxes off of i do believe the bzr ae111 20v blacktops and not all of them were lsd either. But in saying that there is aftermarket lsd's availiable for both the e-series and c-series boxes just don't expect them to cheap either. Edited November 26, 2011 by MYSTIK Quote
