rian Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks man^ So I didn't get much done today, I installed the in-tank lift pump, mounted the surge tank and the EFI pump. Started plumbing the EFI hose and then it was dark. But I had to go to the wreckers to get the in-tank wires out of a VP commodore and that took a fair while. Quote
dbr11k Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 More than I managed to get done, I slept all day haha Quote

I used VN (because it was 90% out off the car) Quote
redae71 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Great stuff rian, i still sorta regret selling this beast but I'm glad its being put to good use :) Quote
rian Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 Whats the VP wiring like? I used VN (because it was 90% out off the car) I had to crimp some ring terminals onto the end of the VP wiring because it had a weird wiring plug where it connected to the in-tank pump, but other than that it was exactly the same as VL-VS intank wiring. Great stuff rian, i still sorta regret selling this beast but I'm glad its being put to good use :) You should have kept the CA18DET KE70! Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Yeah I had to do that to the VN wires as well. I think only VLs had ring terminals. How did you go with the surge etc. Interested to see how you went about it. Quote
rian Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 I mounted the surge tank the same way you did it, but I put a big dent in the fuel tank to get extra clearance. There really isn't much room under there is there... I might take some pics tomorrow, I haven't posted pics in ages. Quote
Willis Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 And you were getting up me for no pics. Mate. Where's the freakin pics!!! Haha Quote
rian Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 Fuel system in! \ My friend came around today to check out the intake manifold. He's going to cut and shut it for me. And I spent a lot of time last night figuring out the wiring, I think I've got it sorted! ;) Quote
Willis Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Jolly good!!!! Gah, I can't ʞ©$ɟing wait to see the E7 crew's conversions finished. They're all getting closer!!! Quote
dbr11k Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 getting very close.. my hoses should be here sometime next week too :D Quote
rian Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) So I managed to get the engine running on some Aerostart, as fuel lines aren't hooked up properly yet. I was waiting on a fuel filter which I now have. If anyone wants to know: Ryco Z624 fuel filters allow you to use the standard 4AGE AE82/92 fuel line that goes from to the fuel rail to the fuel filter (the part of the fuel line with the banjo bolts at either end). One end of the filter is just a 5/16 barb (same as KE70 fuel line) and the other end of the fuel filter is M12x1.25 thread (for the banjo bolt that connects the AE82/92 fuel line to the filter). Edit: I got the fuel filter part number wrong, see next few pages for correct fuel filter. Edited August 12, 2012 by rian Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Did you put your fuel filter in the engine bay or under the car? I was thinking engine bay for easy access. Quote
