rian Posted June 7, 2012 Author Report Posted June 7, 2012 What surge are you going to be using? I can't find many smaller ones haha. Smallest I found was 1.25L Getting one made hopefully :pirate: Quote
Willis Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 That'll be nice! I was thinking the same thing. The site that Dave directed us to had a "custom" tank built to your specs for 150 bucks available. It sounds nice lol Quote
rian Posted July 5, 2012 Author Report Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) Haven't updated this in ages. The 4AGE/T50 is all mounted, headers are on, engine loom is mostly wired up. But the list of things left to do goes a little like this: Route the water pipes/hoses, install the radiator Install the oil cooler Find a T50 speedo cable Replace the TVIS actuator and plug(it's broken for some reason) Convert the intake manifold to RWD Mount the airbox Make a front pipe to connect the headers to the rest of the exhaust Install tailshaft Install master cylinder, slave cylinder, hardline and softline Replace broken reverse switch Plumb the fuel lines/install fuel pumps Mount ECU and dash loom Wire the loom to the ignition barrel and into the dash cluster Re-install dash Not much work at all... syke! It's_AUDM_Yo Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 The trick is to not make a list then you'll think its all sweet.... Quote
ke70dave Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 My standard ke70 Speedo cable worked fine in the t50? Nice progress though! Quote
rian Posted July 5, 2012 Author Report Posted July 5, 2012 This car was an auto, it had a different size speedo cable. So a K50 speedo cable will be fine? Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 You've probably found this...You can get new ones. If you can't find any 2nd hand. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-KE71-TE72-TE75-SPEEDO-CABLE-NEW-/261045283374?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc782ea2e#ht_2311wt_884 Quote
ke70dave Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 yeah i just had a cable from a manual ke70 (4 speed), and it plugged straight into the T50, and with the correct sized tyres (195/50r15) it even gave a speedo reeding that was +/-2km or something. Quote
rian Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 Clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, braided line and hard line now installed. Water pipes and thermostat are modified for RWD and installed. Radiator is in, thermo fan has been acquired. Engine loom is modified and installed. TAILSHAFT IS THE WRONG ONE!!!! It was sold to me as an AE71 tailshaft, it's the right length and it fits to the T50 but it doesn't fit up to the Borgwarner diff. I suspect it's a T50/T-series tailshaft. Anyone want to swap for an AE71 tailshaft?? ;) Quote
rian Posted July 7, 2012 Author Report Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) Today I discovered (thanks to Destroyer) that my tailshaft fits a T series diff. So people, what should I do? Should I just hunt down a AE71 tailshaft, or should I buy a T series (drum brakes, and its not assembled + needs new axel bearings) for $160? I kind of just want to get an AE71 tailshaft because I'm lazy, but it may take a while to find one and I want it now! Edited July 7, 2012 by rian Quote
Jono.C Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 T series diff for sure.. To be honest at these uleh hektik drift prices you'd probably end up almost paying that for a tailshaft.. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) T series FTW. You'll end up wanting to upgrade to one anyway, plus LSD options. If not ill buy the T series and swap you for my tailshaft :P Edited July 7, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
Willis Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 My T series was $200. Pretty stoked on that. But then I have to get a tailshaft made... The option of an LSD is a good thing..It's what I'll be saving for. Lockers are cheap and a whole lot of fun but they don't last forever... Go T series man :D Quote
