visuli Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Hi, i have a set of front struts from a ke 55 (so i was told) and when i try to fit them on to my KE 20 Stub axle using the original ke 20 inner bearing which fits fine the hub seems to wide, when i measured the 2 stub axles the ke 55 is around an inch longer ... so everything fits on but i can't put the nut on the stub axle because there's not enough thread.. also the backing plate holes don't seem to line up.. Have i been sold the wrong parts? or am i missing somthing here any help would be much appreciated i have been searching for months and these parts are all i can find. so i have $800 worth of rims i can't fit to my car and its a little frustrating. :( Quote
mungi mods Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Ke70 hubs ke20 discs and calipers. All bolts straight up Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 i have done this about 2 years ago. You use the hub, disk, and rear backing plate from the ke55, one bearing from ke55 and one from the ke20 and it all bolts onto the ke20 strut and stub axel. It does work i assure you, so don't stress about the new rims they will fit. Quote
coln72 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 From memory, we had no issues fitting '55 discs and calipers to '20 struts. Just needed the '55 backing plate. To fit this you should drill out and tap the four mounting holes to suit the '55 backing plate. Quote
Dippy81 Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 If you have one the old ke20 hubs let me know i need one Please. 4x110 Matt Quote
te27 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 If the backing plate holes don't line up u have the incorrect backing plates. The holes should line up, the only thing u have to do is to tap the holes on your strut to a 8mm or 10mm hole to match the hole on ur new backing plate. The holes on the backing plates should be in line with eachother not off set from top holes to bottom holes. Quote

Jono.C Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Here's how i did it: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/57067-faq-how-to-disk-brake-a-ke1x/ That's on a ke10 but ke20 is the same. Make sure you're using a ke20 rear bearing in the hub and use the correct nut to hold it all on. I had nut and split pin issue's until i used the correct ones. Quote
