Felix Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 140-150HP on twin 1 1/2" SU's....probabaly not. SU selection chart: Quote
ancullen Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Maybe you'll just have to upgrade to 1 3/4" or 2" SU's when you want to push the output that bit further. Mmm, 2x 2" SU's sounds good. Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 Hmm! 13/4 su's. :) That chart is a bit of a worry, but I do know of a couple of triumph 1800's that dyno just over 140hp and they have the same carbs Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 A few picture updates The instrument panel installed indicator and hi beam The block is going to be RED the honed block and cleaned piston Quote
ikon_idol Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Hi. Different pistons to the ones in my 7k. Mine have a "D" shaped dish like 5k pistons. Are these standard? How did you convert to solid lifters? I left the hydraulic ones in my 7k and used solids in the 5k. I converted them by pressing a hardened steel push rod seat into the bottom of a gutted 5k lifter. SLOTH Snr Posted December 22, 2005 Author Report Posted December 22, 2005 Yeah they are the stock pistons. Came up realy clean. We used chevy solids they were the right size. The lifters seem to be common size in Kmotors as these are the same size for 4 and 5k. Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted March 4, 2006 Author Report Posted March 4, 2006 Just a bit of an update The extractor paint seems to be holding. My greasey thumb print is stuck for good That was VHT 1200 deg paint. The engine bay also appears to be holding on. Thats pretty amazing. Now for the 7K The head went on yesterday The rockers are still to be fitted It all slowed right down over christmas The engineer doing the heads went on extended holidays I gave the mercedes to the mechanic to sort out.(That was expensive) and to basically cut cost's letting them just do bits in between other jobs it cut down the billing hours So next weekend is looking possible for the installation. (Soon anyway)Will list all specs when up and running Quote
