Dan Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Well since I havent got enough money to build REAL cars yet, at the moment i'm getting into building model cars. I want to make a KE55 model but I have looked every where for a kit, but to no avail... Has anyone bought/known of where to get a KE55 model? Cheers, Dan. Quote
kangaroosa Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I used to make models. Mainly racecars and my pride and joy......a 600mm long yacht from the first fleet. I have never seen a KE55 however. Nor have a seen any old corollas. The closest i think that you will get is maybe a new WRC or ARC Corolla. I've seen a few die cast models of AE86's on ebay.........but theres no fun in die-cast. I more into my Nitro hobbies at the moment. I'm currently building a custom 1/10th off road car with 3 times the horsepower as standard. Then theres my other two cars and the plane that i have hanging from my ceiling. I've got an urge to make a boat next.............I'm addicted. Quote
ancullen Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Mmm, big nitro plane motor in a nitro car. :y: :D Quote
Dan Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Posted December 17, 2005 Shit that'd go like the clappers! I found a site that sells in UK on ebay, they have heaps of cars, like Silvia's and 4WD's and shit, there was AE82's, lots and lots of them (kit form)! My next question is; Where do I get things like rims and that, because the ones that come with them stock look like shit most of the time, and I like my things to be modified/custom! Cheers! Quote
coln72 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 (edited) For rims etc look up your local scale model club. I have a TE25 kit made up as a replica of my KE20 (did the same for my old man as well) Edited December 19, 2005 by coln72 Quote
ancullen Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Wouldn't you have to take the flares and other good bits off to make it a KE20? Quote
coln72 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Yeah I know but I couldnt be stuffed - just painted it like my KE20 (white grill, wheels etc and put on some of the sponsors logos) Quote
rob1 Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 You can buy te27 models and i think i have seen te37 (ke55 coupe) models. I'll see what i can find out, in the meantime search google thats where i found them. Quote
Dan Posted December 21, 2005 Author Report Posted December 21, 2005 I'd love to get a TE37 Model!!! Better get googling fast.. would beat the hotrod model that i'm building now, thats for sure! I found another shop (through subsided) in the US called RPP Hobby (username rpphobby) that sells heaps of good models, but no corollas... Quote
