Hello again. My 80 TE72 is being set-up for full road-racing. Unfortunately, where I live (Los Angeles), there is not much info about setting these cars up for the track. Are there folks out there who race these cars that can give me some assistance as to spring rates, damper setups, sway bars, camber, etc. for my car? It is only going to make about 130hp at the crank and weigh about 2300lbs. I have to use all of the stock mounting positions for the suspension components as well as the stock brakes (but pad and shoe material are free). Please let me know if you have some advice. Thanks again!

need to know more details, like what damper you're using, what sway bars do you have?

how much money do you want to spend? what brands can you get? what tyres are you going to run?

TRD still make good dampers for AE86 sprinters, yours beening a T series should have the 2

"struts, the rears i'm sure are the same.

Well. as of right now, the car is entirely stock. I can legally use any of the AE86 parts for the suspension, I believe, since I can use altered spring seats. Shocks have to use the stock chassis mounting point and attachment method. I can use whatever springs I want, but the shocks/struts can have nore more than 2 external adjustments and cannot be capable of adjustment during motion. Coil overs are also permitted. I can also use any anti-roll bar, traction bar, watts linkage, or panhard rod I want. Camber plates on the front are also allowed, as are shims and eccentric bushings. Ok, that covers what I can do.

Basically, under the rules above, I'm trying to figure out what spring rates, roll bar thickness, cam settings, etc to go with. I can get a coil-over set from Ground Control and I can get some HP shocks and struts from Tokiko. These are all US TE72 specific parts. I have not checked the AE86 parts. Tires will be mounted on either 15x6 or 14x6 inch wheels. Brakes are stock except for pad/shoe material, which is open. I saw a shop here in the States suggest 250lb springs for the TE72, but I believe that is for street use.... Any suggestions? Thanks!!
