Thanks mate at the moment general tidy up as it is my daily.

Have done a fair bit of work already to get road worthy about a year ago

5k motor

Weber carb and extractors

new exhaust system

all rust has been cut out and welded new metal in so the body is very straight.

has a 5 speed from factory.

interior is in extremely good condition - seats, doors, roof lining and dash are all perfect.

Would like to get it painted one day when money isn't an option :P

Also attached is a photo of the mags it came with.

Should i store these better as i believe they are factory mags?

in my opinion you've done the minor tasteful mods, good work, a car doesnt need to go fast to enjoy. at least there isnt any rust, time will give you to save the $$$ for a paint job, just going to keep it the factory colour? Its up to you with your wheels, they aren't the hardest wheel to come across.

Thank you

Yeah Just was not sure as a fella said the center caps are getting rare cause they break easily.

Yes i think I will keep it white unsure about re-doing stripes though what are peoples opinions?

Looking good mate, if it were me respraying it, I wouldnt keep the stripes.. but thats my opinion, others would disagree no doubt.

Needs more low at the front!

Good to see a thread pop up on this, I havent seen many XX ones like this so I 'd be a little inclined to keep it on the straight and narrow. I.e redo the stripes after a repaint etc. Good to hear you've plated all the rust too :y: but does the surrounding body really warrant a repaint though? It does look quite clean and with a simple blend in around the repairs and into the body along with good cut/polish/detail I'm sure it'd come out tops without costing too much time and money. With the XX alloys, the caps brake because the self tapper screws seize/break or were replaced with an overside headed screw causing the old plastic to break.

Its not something you see everyday and is nice the way it is, but do what makes you happy :)

Haha conflicting replies about the stripes.

I do think they add something to the car just not sure what and if I like it :P

Thanks for the info Ben good to know.

As you can see from the photo of the boot there was a tacky black plastic strip along the boot (4 holes) - Has anyone made something ie a badge to fit over this as i can't be the first person to encounter this(plastic was brittle and turned to powder when touched haha). Or would it be better to cover up the holes with bog or something?

Anyone with an original or any other cosmetic parts for sale should PM me :)

FOOMAN - The car came 2" lower and sat very nice on blocks and horrible cut springs though so had to be changed over to get Roadworthy but I would love it to be lowered professionally

Your the second person who has encountered the brittle boot garnish. You could weld up the holes and paint the lid, or possibly source an early model (ke35) bootlid who no garnish at all.

I love these coupes, pillarless is so cool. I'd vote dump it on some jap 13inch wheels (mk3s, starsharks etc) and just enjoy it. the stripes are what make it in my opinion!
