tojo2 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 aux air valve (idle air control valve) looks like one of the ports is broken ? Gives you faster idle when engine is cold Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) ok ran into quite a obvious problem today... Gaskets Any chance (high doubt it) of getting gaskets for a 4efi ? Throttle body -> Runners -> Adapater Might just get gasket paper and put it over the face put bolts through the paper and start tapping the edges of the face with a spanner so the paper starts to tear. Evan G Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 just use a good sealant, threebond ftw Quote
Jono.C Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Get gasket paper, hold it over and rub a pencil over it. Works like when you used scribble over coins Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 Is it good? where can I get it? Quote
158kw4k Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 Is there much difference between the 4k-e manifold, ports, throttle body and the 7k-e ones? Quote
towe001 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 This is what the 7k manifold looks like http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/K_Series/7K-E/Intake_Manifold And if you go back to the first post you'll se what the 4k-e manifold looks like As you'll see the 7k has the shorter intake runners, giving less chance for heat soak in the runners. The 7k's throttle body is a touch bigger and the injectors are bigger. Apart from that i'm lead to believe the 7k manifold will bolt up to the 4k head Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted October 27, 2011 Author Report Posted October 27, 2011 ^^ yup all true.. only let down of a 7k-e manifold is injector choice is very limited. Quote
158kw4k Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 You reckon you could fit some rx7 injectors to the 4k manifold. Heard somewhere that can work? Quote

Spencer[RL] Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) So change of plans as some of you might know , not going to be using the standard ECU..,I'm going to be using a after market Haltech E6X.. The first problem I've stumbled across is that the Haltech only uses MAP sensors which that standard 4k efi gear uses AFM. So can anyone recommend 1 from a certain make, model car ? Edited November 5, 2011 by Spencer Quote
Twinky Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Oh pick me pick me!!!! Haltech uses GM sensors so basically you should raid commodores for sensors and parts. Also you would most likely end up tuning in TPS mode anyway. Waaaaiiit a minute.... is that a map sensor hanging off the side of you Haltech anyway? TPS is where your problem lies, read your manual nad see what TPS your unit can accept. The standard toyota TPS from the 4KEFI is a 3 position switch, I know that the E6 (not E6X) only accepts a rotary pot type sensor. I am unsure of what the E6X accepts in terms of TPS. Anyway ask any question you want as I am now familiar with Haltech systems. I'll be away fishing for most of today so I'll get back to you later. Quote
