love ke70 Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 thats the one......not that i listened to that with my 15*8's on the ke70 any know if 255's will fit on 8 inch rims? Quote
gtnickk Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 Not sure but i don't think you will keep the same speedo cailbration if you put 255's on. (One way to find out chuck them on and drive past a speed camera joke :S ). Or just take it to a tyre place and they should tell you :) Quote
love ke70 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 the width wont make any difference to the speedo as long as the profile is the same as before, i don't know if my calibration is right at the minute anyway....supra box, 4.3 alfa diff, low profile 15s and the original speedo, I'm not sure if they got the right cable or not, its somethin else i have to look into :) Quote
gtnickk Posted January 7, 2006 Author Report Posted January 7, 2006 I wouldnt bet on it, with all that gear it is more than likely to be out. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 hmm thats what i thought, but its been running that gear for a while, so i think it may have been done properly, when i get it dyno'd ill compare the speed on the speedo to the speed on the dash...should give me a fair indication :rocknroll: Quote
muller Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 the wheels look the goods but you so need it lowered and soon :P Â and theres no way that your (love ke70) speedo will be very acurate with those mods me thinks. but a cop might be able to help you with that :rocknroll: Quote
love ke70 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 lol, who knows, it mite be, i mean unless u sit down and actually calculate the rolling diameter of the wheel, work out all the ratios and work out what the throttle cable spins at theres no way you will really know i know that 638 revolutions is one km on the speedo, but thats all i know :rocknroll: i just hope its right, if not i have some playing around with numbers to get the right cable :P Quote
muller Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 youll have to get onto super jamie, hes good a pulling equations out of somewhere for almost anything you need to know Quote
love ke70 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 hmm...u out there super jamie? i could prob do it, its not gonna be that hard, just need to know what speed the thingy in the end of the gearbox spins at hmmm Quote
muller Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 the service manual wouldnt have that in it would it. ive found some interesting stuff that havent known before in there. i got the gregories one. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Yes 255's fit on an 8 inch wide rim, so do 265's Quote
love ke70 Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 lol muller do you have the manual for a car which has a w57 in it? mmmm 265's *drools like homer simpson* is 265 the widest you can go? but i think by that stage ill be needing to flare the gaurds.... Quote
muller Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 naa, i don't have the manual for that man. and would you actually put flares on ya car? Quote
love ke70 Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 (edited) no, hence why I'm not gonna go 265's unless they do fit, but i think 225's are pretty close, close enough for the guards to be rolled anyway Edited January 8, 2006 by love ke70 Quote
