gtnickk Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) Hey People I'm calling on the ke70 guys who have had experince with rims to help me make my mind up. I'm keen on 17x7 Mullins/CSA Pursuit wheels. The PCD is 4x114.3 and offset is +40. The question is will these fit up nice under the gaurds, will i need spacers and are they to big. gtnickk Posted December 9, 2005 Author Report Posted December 9, 2005 Thanks Nick, will do i will get a nice set of 15. Sounds like it is to much trouble fitting 17s on ke70. Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 BAH!.... I priced tyres yesterday for the back of the 86'... Â Cheapest was $160.00 per tyre, and thats for 205/50/15.... Â That SUCKED!...... :( WAY to much for cheap burn out rubber......! :D Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I can get my 215/40/17's for $150 a tyre fitted. They are a soft tyre I guess...but it seems to be lasting ok. Â Alot of people say you can't fit 17's on a KE35 either, especially one as low as mine is, but ahem.. Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Not sure what brand, but apparently that was the ELCHEAPO brand..... Â I just want em for skids anyway.... If I wanted grippy tyres, i wouldnt complain about the price, but for crap tyre - at that price - STICK IT! :D Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I think ill do a little shopping around this weekend..... :( Â If not, i might have to purchase them in other places! :D Quote
love ke70 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 If you want skid rubber, raid a tyre place after hours. Than all you have to do is find a tyre changing machine... Â best place ive found for cheapo tyres is the wreckers, my local wreckers sold me a matching rear set for 25 bucks each and waved the 5 buck fitting fee. i don't know how many wreckers would do this but i wouldnt think mine is the only one. its probably a push to find alota 17's at the wreckers but they have some, and plenty of 15's and 13's Quote
Clown Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Some of the import wreckors have started selling 2nd hand tyres really cheap. I know theres one or two places in melbourne that are doin it. But yeah 17" tyres new are expensive, one of the reasons my mr2 is still sitting in the shed at the moment. Quote

If a cars been sitting for ages the steel belts will deform and develop a flat spot and you'll forever have a shudder in the car. My silvia came with near new Bridgestone GIIIs on it...but theyre worthless because theyre flat spotted. All theyre good for is skid tyres. Quote

irokin Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 yea only when theyre left on the car. Theyd be ok in racks but you never know if theyve been on a car sitting for a few months. Its a gamble I guess. Quote
gtnickk Posted December 22, 2005 Author Report Posted December 22, 2005 (edited) Hi fella's  Well i went shopping and came up with these.   There are 15x6 and i reckon there going to look tough. The best thing was the price at 900 with tyres.     This brings me to my next question what tyres. Seeing as most people here have experinced some motorsport and are experinced with cars. What brand tyres should i get, price does not matter. I am swaying towards yokohama or goodyear. Edited December 22, 2005 by gtnickk Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Usually when wheels are "x" price with tyres, they are whatever tyres you get, are you sure you get to choose? Quote
gtnickk Posted December 23, 2005 Author Report Posted December 23, 2005 Yes i ask that very question. I coudn't belive the deal. Quote
gtnickk Posted December 25, 2005 Author Report Posted December 25, 2005 So which brand should i get. Quote
