muller Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Hey everyone out there in rollaland. i thought its about time i got off my lazy ass and posted up the project that i have just started to undertake. First off ill start with what it is and how i came to own it.... My cousin and i are pretty good mates and we are both pretty much right into little bozz box cars as he has owned numerous datsun's. a couple of 1200 coupes that were bush bashed and is basically where he learned to handle a car so well, i envy him as i had never had this chance, and he has also owned a couple of 1200 utes. two of them are in the background of one of the pictures that i will post up in this build-up. so thats where my love of little cars began. I thought to myself what can i get that none of my friends have had or are doing because i like to be a little different. my cousin had the datto scene pretty well covered, another two of my mates are right into there gemi's and another couple into early model rotaties (RX2/RX3). So after questioning a few people of what they would recomend as a great little car to bugger around in i came to the decision that "I'm goin to get a rolla" and it was great cause ther was NO ONE else with any in my area. I looked around a little and instantly came to be most fond of the ke20 2-Door Sedan as well as the ke25. so i did some more hunting around and couldnt find a dam thing in my local area. Me and my cousin did countless k's in the persuit of one and still came up with nothing. then out of the blue my cousin turns to me and says that his brother has some things in a self storage facility and while his mother was helping him moove some things there she had noticed a couple of little cars tucked away in a shipping container that he thought could have been rollas. We went to the facility and inquired about the container on there front lawn and he clamped down saying that he was not allowed to tell us what was in anything or some shit like that and we asked if he could find the details of the owner of the crate and he agreed. little time later i got onto the guy that owned the crate and asked him if there were two little cars in it and he said yes there was with a suprised look on his face that people actual knew that they were there. opened the crate and low and behold there was a ke25 and a ke20 2-Door Sedan. I bought the ke20 ($1000) and my cousin bought the ke25 ($1000) which he later figured that he didnt really want it and i bought it off him. talking to the guy i obught them off and he told me that he was goin to do them up for his grand kids but they didnt want them so he abandoned them really and left them sit in the container. They had been in there out of the weather for 10 years!!!. The ke20 was rallyed and had a pretty good motor in it and some suspension things while the ke25 had an imaculate interior and a complete respray and just neat as. so i got the red ke25 on the road as my daily untill the engine died :D and the ke20 was stuck in the shed and left till now. I'm dale kerrigan........and that was my story. hehe sorry for writing so much but hey.....you don't have to read it. Pictures soon. Quote
muller Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 The red rocket, i have since registered it under the plates NEAT 25. i will also get some pictures of it somewhere nice, just don't know yet. you should also know that this car is not my project but a few of the people have expressed interst in the car so i thought id put a few picks up anyway. ill get some actual pictures of my project car up later; hope you like the pictures. muller Quote
Tiger Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Mmm... clean rolla! 2 door sedan? :D Is it me? Or that didn't make sense? I always thought of a 2 door being a coupe. (shrugs) Unless someone's been lying to me this whole time :( Quote

muller Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Posted December 17, 2005 ooooooooohh, i get it. you mean your car? lol. na man i love your car and its my inspiration for a supercharged 5k  I'm actually in the process of doin a few things to my red rocket at the moment. basically to clean it up a little more for the melb bbq thats organised cause i want it to look nice as well as its forcing me to get off my arse and get the things on my 'to do list' actually done. my list so far includes: swap old 3k (died) to 5k that I'm pulling out of the ke20 (actual project) and will have nothing else to do with Putting lowering blocks under the rear. Cutting the springs under the front. Paint strip and paint wheels whits with silver rim, buy tyers, fit, ballance and front end allignment. Get paint buffed. Buy some new black carpet. Tighten hand brake (no one else understands that it dosent have to touch the roof for it to be on) :y: Drop old and put in new oil (Engine, G/Box and Diff) Replace old with new oil filter . air filter and in line fuel filter. Horn stopped working the other day (find the problem and fix it) :) Die the piece of carpet on the dash as it has faded over time. Fit K-Mac front swaybar under front if it fits. its on a ke10/11 at the moment. Fix window winder on drivers side. Clean interior replace old with new: plugs, leads, points, rotor button, rotorcap, condenser. Then hopefully all goes well i can get it tuned as well. :D ive got from dec 17th 05 till jan 7th 06' -thats.......22 days i think. see how far i get cheers muller, neat25 Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 haha yep, I meant your car. That is a long list of things to do in 22 days dude..Good luck What the hell are you doing up this early on a Sunday morning btw? Quote
muller Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) Well ill get started on my actual build-up/project but i'll still add lil bits about my 25 here and there, so...... As i stated on my intro for this build-up i found it in pretty dam good condition hidden away inside a shipping container for 10 years and bought it for the cheap old price (i thought anyway) of $1000 and took it home as soon as i could with the help of my cousins work mate and more importantly his trailor and ute. :y: Stuck it on the trailor and took it home where i just rolled it of the trailor infront of my house for all to see because the trailor wouldn't fit up the driveway. When my mum had a spare about dumping a car out the front like that which looked so dirty, beat up and in that sort of condition i sopose all that crap cause she cares about that kind of stuff. I have since littered the back yard with parts and of my various rollas which have been out and about (on the street) all of which are unregesterd and one which is absolutly TRASHED (aptly nck named 'f@$k bucket) i parked on the front lawn to demonstrate how good condition the other one is compared to that (was neally killed for doin it too) as she dosent want our street to give our house a reputation to be 'feral'. Pushed it up the driveway where i washed it about a dozen times as the dust of all that time had actually baked itself into the paintwork whish is pretty average anyway. Cheaned out the interior, threw out the crappy floor mats in the front and the carpet in the boot as well. Thats as far as it has come for at least 6 months, it just sat in the corner of the ward giving me a look that said "hurry up and do something with me already". I have since bought a house WITH A SHED and are now able to tinker with it at m own leasure. Stuck it in the shed and put it up on 4 car stands, pulled the wheels off it and the bonett and proceded to pul the engine out. Its just sitting in there untill i pick up an engine crain which should be later today and i can pul it out. mean while i started pulling the front gril, lights, inicators and a bunch of little things untill i came to taking the front guards off. Down to the last bolt (the one under the rubber to stop your bonet slamming to hard when closing it) and it just sits there spinning but the nut dosent. started thinking it it was something different so i tried the same one on the other guard. SNAP, shered the bolt head off......dam, what about this one........SNAP......f@$k!!! i can see that I'm going to have to drill out alot of the bolts which is a MASSVE pain in the arse. Undid the header bolts and layed the manifild ontop of the engine with the carb still attached and undo the rest of the exhaust bolts and then figure out that i have to take the engine out to get the 1 piece exhaust out or i could drop the dif out and do it that way. dosent matter to me as the car wil be down to just a shell in a couple of months and i can start paint stripping it and choosing a paint. I'm pretty made up on a gunmetal grey with white thick 5 spoke wheels with white walls. thats al i have for now but ill put up a bunch of pictures of my project rolla, and the one i parked on the front lawn for me mum  Edited December 17, 2005 by muller Quote
