Spencer[RL] Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Theys plenty of ways of doing it , from cheap and nasty - thicker head gasket or expensive - machine shop should be able to open up some space in the head but not much ....the best and and 1 of the cheapest ways is a 4k head. Whats a firing order of a 5k? 1,3,2,4? the mani will be easier than a single turbo  you just got to be clever with the space you got for the SU and the J pipes. edit : just seen your wanted ad , you in NZ man most of the efi's that are here come from over there! phone your wreckers and look series 60 starlet 1983-1984 came with efi... I got 1 but its not for sale  Edited October 4, 2011 by Spencer Quote
158kw4k Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 I might pull head of my spare 4k and see how it goes when she's running. Let me know if you want to sell that efi. I'd be keen to put it on my 4k with a supercharger!! Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 I'm doing a 5k Sc14 with a big 2" SU, dint have any set plans for the efi, i just like it there sitting in my garage :laff: Quote
158kw4k Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 A single dellorto suck through would sound niiiice. How you gonna cool it? I guess you could use water sprayers or something. Quote

Spencer[RL] Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 you would be tuning a single dellorto it for the rest of your life! :bash: SU are simple with draw through.. What you mean cooling? I'm doing a Draw through so no inter-cooler Quote

Figjam14 Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 to lower compression why not run a shim? we got some a few years back think it was around 300 for a .5mm and a 1.3mm Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 Just run adequate timing and you don't need to worry about de-comping it. Quote
kickn5k Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 you would be tuning a boosted carb for the rest of your life! :bash: Nothing is simple with draw through.. Haha fixed!!! Nah it can be done both SU and DCOE style but will take a bit longer to get right. "the nobbler" had a draw through DCOE/sc14 setup worked ok. Stu. Quote
158kw4k Posted October 5, 2011 Author Report Posted October 5, 2011 Finished my big single turbo manifold with 32 mm wastegate flange. Think ill finish single turbo set up then may look at twin turbing my 4k. What are the benifits of locking your dizzy? Quote
