hey guys ive just sold my ek civic and I'm looking at my mates carolla its i think a 1992 modle 4 door hatch witha 4agze motor and front mount its currently out of rego its got superlows and 18s the front seats have be retrimed in leather with the trd lego in there also and he has offerd it to me for 1000 bucks. as its been in hisyard sitting for almost 2 years as he lost his licence for 24 months and just got them back and upgraded to a r34 skyline and I'm a p plater I'm going to buy it it runs great just 1 problem i have, the dirty front mount cooler? possible to run no cooler or should i just run a smaller side mounted one cheers guys & gals.. sean!

I seen a lot of fwd 4agze run top mounts but then you have to put a little bonnet scoop or you couldjust paint the front 1 pitch black.

but for next time, try and make your post a bit easier to read, i got a headache from reading that! sentence structure and ease of read go a long way in getting good posts. alot of members wont bother replying if they have trouble reading your posts.

 

And also try and make your thread titles a bit more appropriate to the content. Maybe "possible alternative intercooler 4agze" or something in this case.

 

now onto your question,

 

4agze comes standard with a small top mount interocoler, and the car has a bonnet scoop.

 

i assume you don't have the bonnet scoop and are trying to replace the front mount with something a little more low key. you might be able to get a side mount off a nissan (s13,14,15, R32,33,34) and adapt it to your setup. but you will probably need to re-do some of the piping. or you could use a smaller front mount cooler.

 

best to throw up some photos of what you, as we like photos here :wink:

 

also, p plater.....pending your location, you probably can't legally drive a 4agze converted corolla anyway.

sorry mate yes car has a bonnet scoop but I'm thinking to loose the cooler alltogether its only got and 8 pound pulley so its not running stupid boost umm and the front bar has the hole middle of the bar is cut out so I'm thinking to run stocko bar and standar bonnet no cooler just so is they pop the bonnet its just plumbed togethere so i can "play dumb" but yeah in qld i can't drive it legaly. cheers

nah don't do that, you need some sort of cooler.

I'd be more afraid of the bloke in the Porsche/Merc/Bentley/Rolls that you might hit one day and the insurance company telling you you're shit out of luck and up for a $50k+ repair bill from your own pocket. Beats anything the traffic branch could deal out.

I agree. Heard a few stories like that. Driving like a grandma only defeats the purpose of owning a quick car. Maybe another car is the solution? Keep your gze setup and when you've got your open's, drop it in something else??
