Thirteen13 Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Alright, found a few sets of rims I'm interested in but need some advice on sizes for AE92 Firstly the set i liked the most are most likely not going to fit, but anyway, they are a 15x8 +25. So quite an aggressive stance, which I'm happy with, but the 8" width I'm thinking will pose a concern, smallest i could get would be a 215x50x15 that would be reasonable to have fitted. I didnt have my car at the time so i didnt get a chance to test fit these. Has anyone something of this size with any luck. I'm thinking the 215 will be too wide. My car isnt crazy low and should clear the guard fine, otherwise some flaring is no issue. I don't want to run spacers either. Anyone got any advice if these could fit, obviously i want to take my car up and trial fit them as the best way. Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 195/55 is an easy size to find. Would be minimal stretch on an 8 Quote
ke70dave Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 205/50/r15 might be a go-er 205/25.4 = 8 so pretty spot on. if you have wide wheels, put wide tyres on for good grip. none of this wide wheels, skinny useless tyres crap. (I'm running 225/50/r16 on a 6.5!) best to pick a tyre, check the data sheet on recomended wheel widths. Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 15x8 +25 dude, all i can say is hello to mexican wheel poke, and butchered guards  i have to pump my guard slightly to fit 15x7 +25 on an ae9x and thats with 205/50/r15 plus i would go with what ke70dave said about the tyre data sheet for recommended rim widths :y: Quote
Thirteen13 Posted September 26, 2011 Author Report Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) yeah, I'm not really that keen on running a stretched really isnt my thing, considering I'm aiming for 200fwkw in an AE92! ill never get traction! However a 215 i doubt would fit very well. I did also find another set of rims which are a bit more sensible, 15x7+30 which will fit nicely with a bit of aggression and i can get a 205/195 on it which will seat nicely Edited September 26, 2011 by Thirteen13 Quote

I'm only running King Lows, not superlows or anything crazy like that.. I like a bit of travel in my suspension! Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) rims are not currently on the car as its awaiting a heart transplant/new suspension(including bushes) etc etc etc. though i am currently using a set of 16x6.5 +38 on king lows here is a test fit of the rims only on the rear of the 15x7 +25 http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj5/mystik_rolla/tire009.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj5/mystik_rolla/tire008.jpg not the greatest pics but you get the point Edited September 26, 2011 by MYSTIK Quote
