Willis Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Does anyone know of a brand/company that makes copies of the Work Equip 01 wheel?? They're about 1700-1800 dollars per set and i can't justify paying more for wheels than i did for the car. I know Rota make the Hayashi copies but couldnt find anything like the Equip on their website. Anyone point me in the right direction? Or am i going to have to settle for something else? Cheers, Will Quote
ke70dave Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 a quick google search and the wheel "maxxim fourplay" appears to be what you want. from what i can gather is an offshoot of "konig" wheels. http://www.konigwheels.com/Maxxim-Home/2007-Maxxim-Wheels_2 though on that site it appears they are discontinued. maybe dig a bit deeper maybe they are available somewhere. why not just buy some 2nd hand equip 01s? how much do you want to spend on wheels? http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/64567-BNE-full-set-of-Work-Equip-01-s my mate can't sell these at $1000 for the set. Thanks Dave, I don't really have a budget but i think once the wheels themselves cost more than the car then its not a viable choice. Buying 2nd hand didnt even occur to me(slaps forehead) but i'll be looking into it. Cheers Quote
ke70dave Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 look here for wheels http://otomoto.shop033.com/c/4056608/1/used-13-and-14-inch-wheels.html usually pretty good prices too. they even have some 01's for you in 14" and 13". from your previous topis you have a ke70, thus pretty much every decent upgrade will cost more than the price of your entire car!! Thanks mate, Yeah, i can live with mechanical upgrades. Theyre worth it. But for wheels..haha, damn KE70's. I've got 14x7 MA61's on it at the moment and they were 400 dollars for a set of 5 which in my mind is a realistic price for an aesthetic upgrade. They feel better on the road too though so not entirely aesthetic. Thanks for your help mate. Really appreciate it. Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 But then you think about it, you paid $400 for a set of stock wheels. My set of Tri Spokes are worth about $1500~ have to pay good money for good wheels. Quote

My set of Tri Spokes are worth about $1500~ have to pay good money for good wheels. But then i think about it, a set of 5 stock wheels that i paid 400 dollars for looks better(in my opinion)than half the aftermarket wheels out there worth 1500 dollars plus. If i can source a decent set of second hand wheels for a good price, i will. If i can't, tough luck and i'll settle with my MA61's and tidy them up. I would rather put 1500 dollars towards an engine conversion than a set of wheels. Quote
