silverra23 Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 Just a note that since this is being held on the traditional "Donuts" weekend (third Sunday of the month), this event will take the place of Donuts. Quote
carbonboy Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Just a note that since this is being held on the traditional "Donuts" weekend (third Sunday of the month), this event will take the place of Donuts. So, does this mean there wont be any donuts? NNNOOOOOOOOO! Quote

carbonboy Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 No donuts... sausages instead! Hmm, fair trade! :D I don't think I'll be allowed to park with you guys this time... :laff: Don't worry Carbonboy, if I end up helping on the BBQ, I'll make sure you get an extra good one! Cheers! :y: I may not be smart but I can lift heavy things  , so if I can be put to use on the day let me know. :) Quote
silverra23 Posted October 29, 2011 Author Report Posted October 29, 2011 carbonboy we could certainly use a hand between 8am and 9am directing cars in to the park :) Quote
carbonboy Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 (edited) Consider me volunteered, I contacted Frank mid-way through reading this months newsletter today & I'm in for whatever. :) Forgot to get ahold of Batch today regarding the working bee, by the sound of the grounds condition, they need as much loving as they can get. I'm not good for earthmoving equipment etc but I've got a few things to kill vegetation with. Edited October 29, 2011 by carbonboy Quote
silverra23 Posted November 3, 2011 Author Report Posted November 3, 2011 Planning is coming along nicely for Classic Japan, hope everyone is out with the polish getting their cars ready. It looks like we are going to have a massive turn out of cars which is great. Please bear in mind that we only have space for 120 cars on show on the grass, so we really are looking for top quality cars for this event. One other thing to note is that once the cars are in on the grass at 9am, there is to be no movement of them until 1pm. That is a condition of our use of the ground. So if you want to be in, you are in for the full 4 hours. In other news, we now have support from Shannons for the event, so thanks to them, and Chroma Canvas will be there taking photos on the day and are offering a special prize on the day. If you have any questions about the event, please email me - [email protected] or send me a PM Quote
drewsith Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 hi , will be taking the day of work for this ( chef by trade ) do you need some hook ups food wise , i can get wholesale from butchers ect might even offer my service on the bbq ( as long as i get to look at the cars !) plus i want to bring my '68 ke15 but it is 3/4 way though a resto .... what condition are the cars attending ? and is it expected to fill the quota?? silverra23 Posted November 12, 2011 Author Report Posted November 12, 2011 Hi Drew I will send you a PM re meat.. that would be awesome. re the standard of cars - we are looking for cars that are show n shine quality generally speaking. We have asked a few cars along that might not meet that criteria if they meet a particular need on the day - eg a couple of club race cars and rally cars - but generally speaking, we want the best standard of cars we can get on the grass.. Bring the KE15 along regardless, we are hoping that we are oversubscribed to some extent and that the car park attached to the ground becomes a secondary show with just as many cool cars in it, so either way we would love to see it. I am expecting we have more than our 120 cars turn up, but not sure how many exactly. Cheers Adam Quote
m0nkey Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 looked at google, where is the carpark going to be exactly? just need to know we are bringing in a pram :D sadly no ke15 from us :( Quote
silverra23 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Report Posted November 15, 2011 http://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?msid=216361790786259326921.0004ad72476ea98c13361&msa=0&ll=-37.790795,145.000391&spn=0.033371,0.077162 Blue marker on the map shows the show venue. We will be encouraging general public car parking on the horseshoe part of yarra bend rd. Interesting cars that don't quite make the cut for the grass will hopefully park on the entry rd to deep rock picnic area which I think is called deep rock rd but is unmarked on these maps. Quote
kickn5k Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I may make this, it depends if I'm needed this weekend at sandown. I've been helping with the "big cat" Bathurst winning xjs jag in historic group C&A touring cars. Datto should be done this weekend but won't be signed off by engineer for another week or so. Not really keen to drive an unengineered car to the city. Quote
