B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I dunno I think they are weather balloons. Its been delayed for a bit as its too windy on the ground. Then I found out its gonna take 2 hours just to get to jump altitude. I got work in the morning, I'll watch the replay. Quote
towe001 Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Its been aborted :( Today, the launch of the Red Bull Stratos capsule had to be stopped at 11:42 a.m. local time in Roswell, New Mexico just before Felix Baumgartner's giant 30 million cubic foot balloon had been fully inflated and made ready for take off. From early morning the team postponed the launch due to strong winds at 700 feet - the balloon's top - waiting for the right weather window to open. The launch was scheduled for 11:40 a.m., the balloon inflation had begun, and then gusty winds picked up and made a launch impossible. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I wonder if the launch team are sitting around one end of tje balloon making Mickey mouse voices now. Quote

It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Nas is good he makes engineering a bit more bearable. Also I ground the writing of my cam covers. Can I use bog to smooth it out or will it just melt off? Edited October 10, 2012 by It's_AUDM_Yo Quote
rian Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) what about metal filler? Or just keep sanding/polishing until it goes smooth? Edited October 10, 2012 by rian Quote
carbonboy Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Also I ground the writing of my cam covers. Can I use bog to smooth it out or will it just melt off? The metal filler & bog usually have the same base resin ingredient, so will probably fail due to the heat. From what I've seen people do in the past, the method of using finer & finer hand-files, then sandpaper & then polishing seems to have done the job pretty well. It's just a bit of work that's all. :) Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Yeah its pretty smooth already, I was really careful with the grinder. Quote
Jono.C Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I'm absolutely smashed right now but still the highlight of my day is my corolla 1200 keychain turning up!! Quote
