Hi Jake,

Can you please post up some pics of this XX ke55. The XX was available in the

early model ke55 (with the round headlights and chrome bumpers with plastic end caps)

And also the late model ke55 with square headlights and wrap around bumpers.

The bold stripes were mainly used to differentiate between the cs and xx hardtops.

wow that was quick thanks!

Ok well mine is the later model then as you can see in the photo.

It has a 5 speed and different door cards - bumpers where white but very damaged when i first purchased.

Would love to see photos of anyone who has one aswell :)

I tried expanding the photo but no luck, but that looks like a great late ke55 :y: :y: . You should put up a rides thread. I wasnt 100% sure whether the full wrap around bumpers were body coloured or not

however they are. I really love the pinstrips, it just breaks up the car a bit especially being white. But overall the car looks really nice.

Do you eventually want to source some full wrap around bars for it, and paint them white to the car? Put on a set of 13 or 14" XX alloys either polished or natural silver and it'll be a winner. Also does it have the two horizontal chrome intersts that run along the grille?

You don't really see clean XX ke55 hardtops, which is why i'd be inclined to keep it standard, or do reversible modifications. Your not the first to raise the question about 500 or so of these being made either. Apparently mums friend in the early 80's bought on of these brand new and she is certain the was black on the outside with the gold pinstriping, along with a colour co ordinated interior in probably a tan colour or grey.

Some pics of interest for you :y:

I have seen the "only 500" concept bandied about regarding the XX a few times... I always wonder about the accuracy of that.

In my opinion it was the top level spec available to order at any time, and wasn't a limited edition, but perhaps sold fewer purely because of the price.

If there were only 500 made, there have been an awful lot that have managed to survive...
