volvorola Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 hi guys.... have just joined to ask a few questions! I'm 17 almost and am on my L's still, live in melb and am a major car buff so far had a 1964 hillman minx (dragged out of paddock, fitted with hillman hunter gt alloy head motor, converted to manual ect) didnt get very far in terms of the resto but was a major learning experince ! sold a few months back due to space restraints... my father has owned a orig 1969 1500 bug that i have learnt to drive in maintained over the past few years... i love the car very much but dad refuses to sell it to me :bash: ATM i am the proud owner of a 1984 volvo 240 gl, low kays and immac. While i love the car i long for a manual and rawness of an old car!! the volvo is a little to refined and complex to maintain(k-jet fail) for my liking ..... while on my usual sunday drive i spotted a early corolla sitting in a shit ass car yard out past lilydale ! the car is a 2 door and i belive it is a ke20 ! as it was a sunday the yard was locked up but it was close to the fence and i managed to spend 10 minuted getting a look about it.... the car has the original paint (perfect condition) and some minor bubbling along the corner of the door and front quaters (only very minor)and seemed as straight as an arrow! judjing by the fading on the dealer paper hanging of the door it was there a long time i rang the yard this afternoon and collected some information of the elderly and slightly bewildered owner of the car yard the rolla is an automatic 92000 genuine log booked miles as well as orig books from doncaster toyota longish reg RWC runs perfect the interior is perfect no other rust besides what has been described and the cars condition is genereallly exelent original... the yard wants 3k for it..... whats a ke0 in this condition worth? are they still daily driverable? is it worth angering my father and buying such a car? altezzaclub Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 $3k is steep I reckon. There have been a couple of overrated examples of different Corollas on here recently for less than that, so unless you really want that particular model you could get a superb KE70 for under $2k. You can use them daily, but don't expect to go fast, or even keep up with the traffic with an auto on the original motor. However that is all easy to fix unless you want to keep it completely original. Quote
volvorola Posted September 5, 2011 Author Report Posted September 5, 2011 Hmmm i thought 3k is steep, It is immac though I shall offer 2 i reckon And no pics, shes not advertised on the net Quote
Figjam14 Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 wouldnt hurt to evan offer 1k, you got nothing to loose and could get yourself a bargin. Quote
Redwarf Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 For sale for $3K and offer 1? Thats a really good way for him to tell you where to go. Doing that shows a lack of respect, particularly if you really do want to buy it. Quote
volvorola Posted September 6, 2011 Author Report Posted September 6, 2011 yeh 2k is most probably where she sits..... are parts still availible for them? and can some one show me where to find another immac corolla! there does not seem to be to many good ones left out there Quote
