Evan G Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) cut one spring in half and use each one for each strut. the professional dodgy way of doing it is. chop the spring file the end so it doesnt look chopped. heat up the bottom spring till it turns cherry red. push it down on the strut so it sits dead straight (and wont fallout!) quench in some oil. once all done paint red and zip tie into strut. PICS from the left. stock eb spring. compressed stock spring 2 inch lower and SUPER LOW choppies (I'm not using them) 2inch lower and 2.5 possibly 3 inch lower you just chopped your springs stock shocks feel fine in mine atm Edited September 3, 2011 by Evan G Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 I chopped my springs and would recommend to get short stroke shocks, as mine does weird movements at speed over bumps which does not feel safe. Quote

ke70dave Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) kyb part number 343113 short stroke shocks worked well with my cut falcon springs (out of na AU). you will have to experiment with the length, just cut them in half, instlal into car. see height. take out..cut...repeat. they are shocks to suit a lowered commondore. about $160/pair. throw your standard ke70 shocks in the bin as soon as you install stiffer springs. disclaimer. in order to keep your car legal, do not install au cut springs 2nd disclaimer: I'm not sure heating up one end and bending it is such a good idea either. that may tend to do funky things to the spring metal, and MAY cause spring failure. either by physical snapping of the spring, or causing it to sag over time.
