Spencer[RL] Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) So I'll be getting new rims sometime next week and I'm very undecided on what to get. So thought a discussion and vote on what would look better on a ke70 would be fun. Both rims have gorgeous looks and have a well known history in the Japanese tuning market. Either Rims will be ordered Front:R15 x 9jj +-0 Rear:R15 x 9jj -10 Either Rims will be wrapped in 195/50. Let me know what you guys think and vote for what you think would look best. If you have some pics of either of these rims on another car post them up. Shackotan Aleica My Thoughts: Shackotan - Done by the famous ke70 of Grant Baker and don't want to be seen as a "copy cat", also maybe a little dull in looks??? Aleica - The rim pattern is very small with the lips moving towords the centres making the rim look not so deep.Pink would be screaming look at me ! Edited August 31, 2011 by Spencer Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 I know man but you got to seen the Aleica's in gold! I can't find a pic of the gold 1's on a car :bash: Reed vote! Quote
Ben-89 Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Shackotan looks the best as its elements suit the character of the car. Clean lines, plenty of dish and the combination shows aggression :y: . Chioce two is too intricate, like a seat base off a wrought iron chair wrapped in a steel band. Quote

Chillin Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 http://speedhunters.com/archive/2009/02/10/guest-blog-gt-gt-midnight-mechanics-ae71.aspx Same rims? on another note, taken a ride in that beast. lost my shit :laff: Quote
swampgarage Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Neither, as they're both cheap knockoffs of classic (and very expensive) Japanese wheels. Grant Scott's ae71 has genuine hayashi streets. 4 Quote
caibs Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 the aleica's look better in photos than in real life i reckon. infact, i reckon you'd be better off getting new alloy outers spun for your current rims if you want them wider. look heaps better than rota's. there's a guy over east that does it. pm *E7* on ae86dc for details if you're keen Quote

Tried to dislike your comment and it +1 , o well. Edited August 31, 2011 by Spencer Quote
swampgarage Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Sometimes you can pick up a bargain, but yeah they can cost a fortune. If I had to pick between those two, it would be the hayashi street copy. Edited August 31, 2011 by 86coupe Quote

Spencer[RL] Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 Trust me man I would buy genuine if I had the funds and could source them but I can't see that happening any time soon. Quote
