madKE35coupe Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Hey guys one of my mates was just curious, what is a near overrated condition ke10 worth? Its completely original besides 3k engine. Its 2 speed toyoglide, all original interior, very minor surface rust, with all chrome trim and badges still intact and in place. Plus a complete brand new rubber door and window seal set. Cheers brendan Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Depends what near overrated condition means and how clean it is all round I guess .. but after seeing a few sell that are complete original untouched condition I'd say around $5000 minimum Quote
philbey Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Near overrated. Lol. I'm sure it is. The best 'overrated' one I've seen in the flesh is Henry's (ke20me). I'd say it's worth substantially more than 5000. I doubt there's many, if any, unrestored KE10's in better nick than his in the country, and if I were chasing a minter, I'd be using his as a price benchmark. Immaculate original cars are worth a lot, but to a limited crowd. But if it's been modded, painted, hacked, etc, it's worth substantially less. There's a lot of overpriced KE10's out there at the moment on ebay etc. Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I know of a couple ke1# series ones that still original never touched they are around just not advertised but as u say they worth alot to a limited crowd .. In saying that there are way too many overpriced cars in the car market and that comes to say any model car .. The market value for corollas in my opinion is redicolous , but also a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it !! from memory someone was tryin to sell a white ke10 in SA nit long ago it wascomplete original that looked very overrated everything was good and unmolested and he struggled to get $6000 for it ! I'm not quiet sure what the final sale price was but think was bout $4500 And it was on market for over 6 months ... Another one I can remember I seen it at a guys house it was also white with red interior and absolutely overrated with very very little marks on it and is one best I've ever seen and it sold for $5000 to a fellow member on here ... parrot Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I agree with Philbey. Market forces drive prices, and there aren't too many people out there prepared to pay that sort of money, however good they are. Old Corolla market in Australia and indeed the world is a small one. Really good cars tend to change hands quietly behind the scenes. Others sit out there for ever, waiting for somone to come up with the cash whilst everyone rabbits on about how they would buy it if they hadn't just bought this, hadn't just done that.... Quote
mattress Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 What a car is worth and what it sells for are usually two very different numbers. Quote
1970 rolla Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 i no were there is realy nice ke10 overrated az red inside white in colour and all original has k engine and toy glide and hes lookin for 2500 Quote
Des Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 The old Corolla market is shit house. There is a very very small percentage of people who would consider paying decent money for a good condition early model Corolla. It's only worth as much as what people will pay. We were offered $8,000 for our Ke11 unregistered and running like shit. Also the term "overrated" is grossly over used these days. overrated to me now is brand new show room condition with no marks and original service stickers etc Quote
madKE35coupe Posted September 6, 2011 Author Report Posted September 6, 2011 1970 rolla I'm from warwick too bud! i think i know the one you are talking about....the bloke that owns it is on his l's? i saw it at the panel shop the other day. now when i say 'near overrated', I'm just going off what any car would look like having 2 owners and being in a storage shed for the last 8 years\/\/\/ Quote
