Are you talking about the smaller one pictured at the top or the one further down the page, I'm afraid your post left a bit too much detail open to interpretation, maybe next time just load the actual picture url instead of the whole thread, there were about a million plenums in that thread.

I looked at the bigger turbo plenum but I think it has more sticking up that will interfere with the bonnet potentially, whereas the other one I could save a little more height I think.

I am having big problems finding the oem thermofans for the ZZT230 radiator.

They are the same as ZZ series MR2 up to 05. I found this out thanks to toyo diy. I love that site, but unfortunately wrecked mr2s are even more scarce than wrecked celicas in QLD.

sorry about pics had some issues with my pc.

How about a plenum that extends downwards like on the hayabusa or bikes

with a pipe going to a filter where the grille is like on the 240 and 260z?

Could be done with the Jenvey backing plate for a base.

Its not the pic I had in mind but similar just missing the bottom inlet

here is the link to the bits and the backing plate is a good start maybe for something custom like the last pic?

So who knows of someone worthy of modifying my diff mounts? I need to get the shell rolling on the MK2 Rona diff asap. Then I can spin it around, rip out the 4age and t50 thats in the car and test fit the engine and trans in the complete chassis. Then Ill have to tow it over to the bloke who is making the headers for it and then to the tailshaft place I guess.

I still desperately need to find cooling system parts from a zzt230 or zzt231 celica, or a late gen MR2 with a 1zzfe. They have the same cooling setup according to toyodiy. Its just hard to find bits from such a late model car.

I did my diff myself was easy, I have a jig for a hilux diff though so made it all line up and weld did all the welding myself as well. Otherwise I think I got a couple of quotes ranging from about $450 if I cut the mounts off and they just used the jig they already had made and about $650 if they did everything, another place wanted about $800 as they had to make a jig up but said they could do it.

Ok good to know mate.

I was looking for someone who might have already made the jig to save moneys I guess.

I just bought a brand new fibreglass hatch for the sprinter chassis, I'm just working on getting it freighted from Albury to here now. Now I just need to find another bonnet with the reinforcing still under it that I can chop to clear the motor a bit.

Ive also bought the sock filters I need to get it running initially.

Would have done more but my motorbike needed some love. I put higher rc bend bars on it, fitted some silicon radiator hoses and changed the coolant over to some fresh stuff.

Interestingly I got a brilliant piece of fabrication gear this week. I was given a vertical linishing sander with a sanding disc and table at the other end. I'm going to put this to good use shaping up any incidental brackets I need and it will help flattening the face of the manifold.

I have a pretty long to do list still.

-mod diff and build it

-find brakes for it

-tailshaft fabrication

-drill and tap and linish manifold

-wire it

-find celica thermofans and coolant filler tank

-make some air ducting from radiator support to radiator core.

-have the new motor stripped and fit the piustons.

-cut drill and tap the new block to suit rwd.

-acid clean the throttles.

-find and fit a spigot bearing to the flywheel.

-flare and paint the chassis.

I'm debating whether to buy all new bits and pieces for this car, or whether to strip the bits I want from the 20v ae71 and sell it off. Id probably only keep the wheels, camber tops (incase I ever do a ke or ae71 again), quaife rack and the ecudata scan unit.

Anyone out there looking for a well tuned 20v ae71 with a 2 way trd lsd disc rear, wilwoods, koni sport adjustables, recaro seats, coil overs, wideband 02 sensor, and modplated for engine, brakes and seats? Everything in it is reco or new. Just thinking out loud for now... Probably 13 grand in parts alone. Plus the value in the tuning. Hmm I don't think it would sell, id want at least 10 k for it in that state and nobody has ever paid that for a ke70 or ae71 to my knowledge.

Ant from Kazian? garage can do the hilux conversion, and there are caliper brackets ready to bolt on MA70 supra rear brakes which is what I am running they are actually the tinyest bit bigger than the wilwood front brakes I have, 5mm bigger but about 2 maybe 4mm thinner vented rotor and still fit under 15's.

Might be worth thinking about hilux diff? I have just welded my diff for the time being but there are plenty of LSD's out there and whole thing including buying the jig to do mounts cost me $900 but I can resell the jig for what I paid for it.

But that depends on if you can do the mounts yourself.

I also saw a very nice ke70 panno sell for 6k with 4age good paint, suspension ect, only ke70 I have seen sell for more than that was a track ke70 with built sr20, mine should have cost around 10k to build my car with full cage with close ratio gear box, also including the cost of the car.

Yeah kaizen is incompetent and not a skilled welder so he is out of the running for certain.

I already have the 7.5 inch corona diff and the altezza lsd torsen centre to go into it, so I'm not going to change to a Hilux rear end. Thats more strength and weight than I need I think. Ma70 brakes will also be a bit too big for my application. Its not going to be a heavy car, probably lighter than a typical 4age powered ae86. I was thinking corona brakes maybe for the rear. I'm running xt130 struts up front to get the bigger stub axles and bearings for the high speed stuff, and to take the stress of big brakes more effectively. I guess I need to make them into coilovers, and to find some appropriate brake upgrade. I don't like the hilux/peugeot upgrade as the calipers weigh way too much and its unsprung weight.

Fair enough although I did my diff myself with only what I have learned practicing , although my hilux diff didn't feel like it wieghed much more than a ke70 borg warner.

Do corona struts give positive camber without longer lcas? if so maybe supra coilovers they run bigger brakes only just fit 14's over them when I had some.

With strut conversions its all about the kingpin angle.

The ke70/ae71/ae86 strut is very similar to xt130 in the kingpin angle. Its not exactly the same, but I was under the impression that it added a fraction of a degree of negative camber. If you use celica struts in a ke70, the kingpin angle will be incorrect and the car will never steer like its supposed to.

My new fibreglass hatch has turned up now. Its actually surprisingly well made. Not bad for $420 shipped to me. And light, oh my god its light. I'm looking at making a polycarbonate window also for it (found a good supplier of 3mm polycarbonate sheet). So I'm looking at maybe at a sub 10kg hatch and glass I think.

So that's one more item of the to buy list. I just need to find a bonnet and then thats all my panels sourced. I don't think I will buy a glass one though as I don't want to pay a premium for a bonnet I will be butchering.
