Twinky Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 I have never seen that 3 line pump before, The standard factory one is the 2 line pump. The screw in fitting is the outlet and the clamped pipe is the inlet from the fuel filter. What you have there is not from a 4k. Even 3k had the 2 line pump. Quote
twinspinna Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 i had the same as you (old one and new one) and just plugged that 3rd hole up (in pic) and works fine. Quote
john84ie Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 i have one pipe from fuel filter and a second one from below fuel filter, and third pipe goes across to my twin carbs.. so do i not need the 2nd pipe?should be able to see it in pic.thanks Quote
Mitch-12 Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 both my ke70's have 3 ports i asummed the 3rd one is the return Quote
john84ie Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 so can i just do-away with the return?? i rang toyota to see could i get a genuine pump but there discontinued.. Quote
KENut Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Johnny that new pump you got is normal, have seen a few of those other ones though. That metal pipe would normally just screw in, but its been hacked and rubber pipe added to fit the other pump. Maybe ask one of the act boys for a new pipe. I'd say the carbys wouldn't be happy without a return, even though they have new needles and seats. Would probably flood them. Before when I said check for a restrictor, now that I think of it, its in the return (angled thingo you will have to screw in). When I got my new pump it was supplyed with a return that had a restrictor. You should probably drill it out? I always ran without one, on stocko and twin sideys. Quote
john84ie Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 if its normal, where does the second rubber pipe that comes up from under fuel filter go?still not sure 100% where the restictor your on bout is!lol! think i'l go out to scap yard in qnb for one of those pipes tomorrow cheers dudes, first time doin this shit! KENut Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Lol lol sorry I'm shit at explaining stuff. Second pipe is your return, which goes to where that threaded hole in the pump is. There should be a fitting in the box to fit it. This will probably have a restrictor in it. Get restrictor out, get some sort of thread sealant, bung the fitting in and attach that second hose. BOOM Quote
john84ie Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 thats a bit better!needed that shit simplified! haha cool i'll have a look in box so,should get it sorted now! thanks amigo! Quote
