t18drifts Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 ok soo we been busy with the corona we were driving it the over day and almost rolled it pretty close to it :o was pretty scary so we installed a rolll cage although it probaly safer without it then it is with ahah we also put a whole bunch of light on the roof so we can go out at night in it we also painted it gunmetal grey with the guards blacked out and white walls haha Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) Protip for the mounted lights, have four, point the outer two 45 degrees either side so you can still see where you're going while sideways  \ | | / ^^ Something like that Edited August 21, 2011 by Toy-Yoda Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 In fact the outers should be flat-beam floods that are focused close in, and the middle ones should be pin-point spots that show a Km ahead.... but I'm not sure if they will stop you hitting a kangaroo at night! Quote

silverra23 Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 At what point do you reckon you blokes are going to hurt yourselves? Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 When you're about 60 and all the strains & torn muscles and bruises come back from the numerous rollovers of 10years rallying... like me! Quote
coln72 Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 Ditto to that, but I aint 60 yet........ Sounds like you guys are having a lot of fun. Just be careful with that locker. Hit the power while you are understeering and you WILL hit what is in front of you, unless you are REALLY confident you have enough power to break traction. There are ways to help this (camber, toe out, castor) but I am not familiar with Coronas, so I can't help you. Quote
t18drifts Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 yeah we were out the over night just doing laps at the usual spot yes there is understeer we arnt pushing it to hard we not about going fast just sliding about but we almost rolled it at lest the 50k but we arnt being total nuts about it but welding the diff it now goes so much faster besides the under steer we find it alot easy to controll in corners now before as soon as you lost traction you would just fish tail like crazy now it doesnt so much fun though we are gonna make up some videos ( rally style) but it is so much fun it would be great to get involved in competetive dirt racing Quote
coln72 Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 Find a car club, join. Get a CAMS 2NS or 2S licence. Look at rule book, look at car and see what it needs and what you can get rid of. Make car suit rules. Read club calender and enter next event. Have fun ;) Seriously, start with motorkhanas. Slow but great at learning car control. Quote
